The other problem is that the telephotos use smaller sensors and have narrower apertures.

I think many would be willing to sacrifice some light in exchange for a 29mm equivalent focal length.

No headphone jack and no micro SD. I don't want any phone that doesn't have those features. Simple as that. Also the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 sucks

Comparing pics from some with 25mm or more shows better/closer details and would negate the afterthought 2x tele and hopefully make it more useful with a bigger telephoto.

I feel X80 pro is going to cost the same as X70 pro plus this time and it's a huge letdown. What about people who want to upgrade their X70 pro? Upgrading to X80 would not make sense as it lacks a periscope camera.

Lacking a headphone jack again? Oh well.

Does anyone still produce a "do it all" device? Headphone jack, best-of-the-generation cameras, OIS and all? For under $1000?

As far as I'm aware, Sony is pretty close to this rating with it's Xperia 1 series, but their cameras seem to be a bit behind competition, and pricing seems to be WAY ahead of what they're capable of. And that 21:9 screen makes me feel I'm holding... a sausage? (long, narrow device that is inconvenient to hold or use).

The problem with the x80 pro, s22 ultra, OnePlus 10 pro and many modern flagships is that the focal length of the main camera is just too damn wide at 23mm equivalent, to me that's almost ultra wide. I understand the reason is to shoehorn a larger sensor and wider aperture, and dxomark doesn't care about perspective distortion, so phone makers chase the metrics reviewers care about and ignore real world aspects.

Huawei outputs 27mm equivalent images, but their lenses are 23mm equivalent, there must be some cropping to get a 12.5mp image, although the p50 pro could be helped by the monochrome sensor.

The pixels 3-5 had 27mm equivalent lenses, Google was the last hold out, but the imx363 shows its age and is noisy.

As for the x80/80pro, their also too big, curved screens, punch holes, then no 3.5mm or micro SD.
