karlanal, 08 May 2022well, different taste for me it is the usability and the 3... moreI guess but the Iris scanner wasn't in the screen at that time ... And I'm more than eager to the maker to make it come back the physical FP like reader in the power button (or on the back?), that could serve in the past for a lot and was way more reliable than using FP under the screen, and with months, will augment the possibility of problem related to screen/protection due to 'heavy unlocking' :P

for me it is the usability and the 3D sensor is way ahead of the iris sensor.
In two or three years it has worked flawlessly for me. never had a false read so for me the winner.
Ill leave you to enjoy the beloved FP scanners :)

techois, 07 May 2022the ultra sonic fingerprint is secure enough but definitely... morehavent been using a FP sensor since they went from a real FP sensor to inscreen.
Try and use the Face unlock with the TOF 3D senor and you wont use a FP again, ever.
Works perfect in any light while the FP sensor reads the fp wrong at least 2 out of 10 times

It was suposed to have 2 year update cirle only and thats the reason it came that late after. So nothing to complain about at all.

The reason is that Android itself is open source, meaning that phone manufacturers are free to propose new UI features to Android, pending approval by Google.
Ever since the US ban in 2019, Huawei has gone on its way to introduce UI features that are exclusive to Huawei devices, such as productivity tools. Those features are not contributed to AOSP source code.
Furthermore, when comparing EMUI 12 or Harmony OS 2.0 against Android 12 or 13, I find that there tend to be more features on EMUI and Harmony OS. One of them is Flicker Reduction that reduces eye strain.

Despite Huawei selled the Honor we can still noticed that Honor use the same UI,perhaps Huawei is still behind Honor,but with a market strategy.I though to buy the Honor Magic 4 Pro but as I have a Huawei Mate 20 Pro I can see their very late updates,ages behind Samsung or other mobile phone companies.Still Mate 20 Pro have Android 10 with EMUI 12.They did not update to Android 12,but they changed only the EMUI.I will never buy anything from Huawei/Honor because I can not trust them!
