Georgi, 04 May 2022Google 3a and 3a xl are buget devices with a less powerfull... moreYou are right but you do realise that iPhone 6s is from 2015 while these Pixel phones are from 2019 the four year gap should be enough to cover up the the difference in processor performance in fact in benchmark they are pretty close it’s a shame though that Google is not able to keep their devices updated for long term apart from their flagship but still fall behind apple hopefully their tensor chip phones will have longer support

And on many phones you can relock thw bootloader. Anyway, I still don't understand why people care so much about the security updates..

Anyway you can... moreAbsolute most custom ROMs are a bloody joke, starting with the inability of locking your boot loader (which means if you lose your phone, it will be trivially unlocked and reused) and ending with multiple bugs or missing features.
I've tried LineageOS on three different "supported" phones: none worked even remotely as good as the stock ROM.
Not to mention that 99% of people out there won't be able to install custom ROMs.
Not to mention that there's a high chance of bricking your phone in the process.

Do people still buy phones based on updates? Anyway you can always install a custom ROM, especially on a Pixel. I still have a phone with Nougat and it's working flawlessly.

5 or 6 years of updates should have been made mandatory. I hope EU will enact a law for that.
