I get the full 1gbps speed that my Fibre offers with no wires.

It's £90 for the 4x4 version. These prices aren't expensive.

wifi6 isnt even widely spread or adopted yet due to how expensive Routers currently are. But here comes wifi7 and is gonna be stupidly more expensive.

With each generation, there are improvements on congestion ease, latency and range improvements and so on.

If, like me and many others, you have multiple phones in the house, multiple computers, streaming services, a game system or two, smart lights and other iOT devices… 802.11n isn’t going to cut it.

Especially one country's gamers.....they still rely heavily on WIFI only when their internet is somewhere the lousiest in the world yet thinking they are amongst the fastest.

If I recall MediaTek announced Wi-Fi 7 hardware before Qualcomm

I can only see wifi 7 bring useful either in theme parks, airports, and uses as the primary connection for Mesh point routers like Orbi. Wifi 6e should be plenty considering that gets you near 1G speeds as long as you're close to the router. Otherwise, unless it's impossible, you should be hard-wired.

And here I am with my 10 yo WiFi 802.11n router (fully supported by OpenWRT, now running version 21.02.3) providing 150Mbps for my laptop (no MIMO) and 300Mbps for my smartphone and I'm absolutely fine with my connection speed.

Why do people need speeds above that is beyond me. Photographers/content creators who upload terabytes of data to the cloud, e.g. to backup or share - OK. Everyone else? I've no idea.

                              Nice
