Anonymous, 06 May 2022Can someone explain why people want a headphone jack on the... moreBecause not all of us came from developed countries with easy access to wireless earbuds. A lot of people simply don't have the luxury to buy those because we earn far less than the average American.
Also the main reason why America gets phones with far less value for their price than here in Asia. People only buy the expensive stuff there, I guess.

Anonymous, 06 May 2022Funny how One UI gets praised despite having over 64 bloatw... moreBecause it doesn't have as much as bugs as miui!!!!!
Before o thought redmi was good because of price performance ration, but hardware alone doesn't matter.
For the same price Xiaomi may have better specs than Samsung but Samsung has a way better android akin with fewer bugs than miui and Samsung receives more updates than Xiaomi

Anonymous, 06 May 2022Can someone explain why people want a headphone jack on the... moreIt s just ANOTHER option and some say the sound it better than using an adapter for usb and a corded headset. I use audio jack and wireless headset on my a52. And always want that option.

Anonymous, 06 May 2022Can someone explain why people want a headphone jack on the... moreI want a phone with headphone jack, because I have many(some premium) headphones with that pin. Period.
I can use the same headphones in other devices as well.
Most Bluetooth headphones have lower quality than them. And there's battery problem. I have 3 headphones and a receiver collecting dust either due to codec issue and low quality or battery died.
Don't have to hunt for quality USB c dacs. It's easier to find quality headphones than quality dacs. Don't have to carry dongles. If I think my jack is low quality, I am free to buy USB dac. It's not that either 3.5 jack or USB dac.
Many dacs or amps I tried doesn't improve much than my Galaxy S phones.
Can listen even if phone's USB jack is in use.
Normal headphone cables can be easily and cheaply replaced.
The real question is why someone doesn't want a headphone jack.

Can someone explain why people want a headphone jack on their phone? Last time I used a headphone jack on a phone was the LG V60 because it was the only phone with a good DAC. Everything else I've used sounds so bad. WIthout a USB-C DAC dongle/adapter, like isn't your audio going to sound like trash? The last few mid range phones I tested that still had headphone jacks made the audio sound like straight garbage. Those gaming phones are no better, well at least the ASUS ROG ones aren't any better.

Funny how One UI gets praised despite having over 64 bloatware apps installed, all of which either cannot be removed or cannot even be disabled.

Anonymous, 06 May 2022Like what you've said, only the top tier flagship will... moreWell mostly its still the same for other android OEMs, 2 os updates and 3 yrs security updates. I think sammy is the only one that has 4 os updates and 5 years security updates.

Anonymous, 06 May 2022Best Android Brands
1.Galaxy
2.Pixel
3.All others
P... moreSony provides creature comforts such as micro sd card slot and headphone jack (and yes, the phones are still IP68). Playstation 4 and Playstation 5 controllers natively compatible with Android. You can even use the controller touchpad as a mouse on the phone or Samsung's DeX desktop. The primary purpose is for usage with Playstation Remote Play but they are usable with any game or emulator capable of using a controller. I would say Sony is Samsung's biggest competitor on the Android market and unfortunately for Samsung, Sony has a lot of pull and experience in consumer hardware that they already have insight to what people want without resorting to spyware.
Currently waiting for ASUS to release a new cellphone as well, as ASUS' Rog Phones are the most overwhelmingly performance-driven devices for Android. Both Sony and ASUS still include chargers with their devices too (ASUS also provides cases with the devices).
It really sucks all these companies keep using Qualcomm, as Qualcomm is part of the reason why phones lose support after 3 years and also why it's difficult to develop privacy-focused custom roms like LineageOS and Ubuntu.

Speaking as someone with S21 Ultra, I see no reason to update to One UI 4.1 as many features are already possible on One UI 3.1. Most updates are on the apps themselves, and using a third party launcher like Nova Launcher means you have always had access to many homescreen features.
Samsung allows you to prevent third party apps from access your private data, but they themselves have full access to your device and you cannot turn off Samsung app spyware.
You are forced to accept Samsung's terms and conditions just to turn off auto-updates on Samsung apps.
You cannot uninstall or disable Samsung Galaxy Store.
You ultimately cannot reject Samsung firmware updates due to update notification harassment.
You cannot choose to install Android security updates alone because security is bundled with firmware updates.
You cannot root or install a custom rom because Samsung will revoke your device's ability to use cardless payment services and Knox security.
You do not have the option to reject Google's apps, as they are forced upon your device when loading the phone/loading Google Play store for the first time/clearing Play Store data.
You exchange your privacy from these invasive companies in exchange for the latest mobile hardware. Is it worth it?

Bebochekov, 06 May 2022Android 12 One UI 4.1 is working great on my A71, one of my... morenice... so other phones have it too?
my xperia 1ii can be set to auto, it estimates when will i plug my phone, so it needs to understand my unplugging pattern (same with xz2 compact)
but on android 11 update, i can set it manually to either 80% or 90%, it says 80% is better...
i can also use power directly... and gaming phones have such feature too...

Anonymous, 06 May 2022BBK oem UI nowadays except One Plus is pretty much stable, ... moreLike what you've said, only the top tier flagship will have 3 OS and 4 years of security updates, not including their midranges which are still having 2 OS and 3 years of security updates. Some Samsung midrangers like the A33, A53 and A73 are already getting the same number of software updates as their flagships, 4 OS and 5 years of security updates. So for longevity, obviously Samsung is the clear winner here.
