I really loved my Apple Watch ⌚️ series 7, it really integrates with my iPhone and mac 💻. It has a lot of features and is easy to use.

Google is not really interested in this segment because there is very little to no economic activity on a Smartwatch. Only thing they could possibly get is some health data about us, which is of not much use to them. That's why there's very little activity in this segment. The market has grown but it is still way under penetrated.

Adegbenro, 06 May 2022I'd really like to hear the user experience of members... moreI have used wear OS watches ever since they were called Android Wear.
Also bought an Amazfit GTR2 in between and while it looks the same as a smartwatch, it is not exactly as smart as the Wear OS or Apple Watch counterparts.
They do the basic fitness tracking and Bluetooth connection for receiving calls. At least the ones with speakers do.
But the notification management is so bad that you would rather not use it. Grouped notifications are hard to impossible to read. Quick replies are not possible in most of them. Basic voice assistant if there is any.
There are many features you will miss when you downgrade from actual smart watches.
But that is the compromise for a longer battery life.
For a simple fashion accessory, it does the job. Many good looking ones with enough watch faces to please most of the requirements. And economical enough for many to buy.

Does its job, tracks my steps, heart rate and sleep. Battery life is excellent - easily lasts 2 weeks on a single charge.

Let's see how long it lasts. But after this experience, I doubt I'm ever going back to a traditional watch again!

rizki1, 07 May 2022I just searched and this top 2 is from an Indian company, w... moreprobably they are cheaper or something.

Once smartwatches last for a month in a single charge and have solar charging like casio in the good old days, or super fast charging, they will completely replace analogue watches.
Voice calling with iSIM, camera, more monitoring sensors etc, would make it so much better.

I just searched and this top 2 is from an Indian company, why are they using this instead of foreign?

Rooting for traditional watch to win is just like rooting for Vertu. Does any one still using vertu? Everyone of those customers have shifted to mainstream flagships. Similar will be the fate of traditional watches including all those super expensive ones. Currently I'm wearing expensive traditional watches but do realize they are going to be like classic cars soon.

Anonymous, 06 May 2022I'd personally prefer a traditional watch over these &... moreOh, finally some old-school buddy is there.
I'd wear heavier metallic watches (I have two same models of Edifice for both the hands) than these "minimised ICU machines" anyday

Anonymous, 06 May 2022I'd personally prefer a traditional watch over these &... moreI have a GW3 Titanium and I think I could answer to your question, for me it's not money wise, it's about functionnality, which a 'regular' watch simply lacks. And when bands could have good audio quality (even though I didn't need RN since it was used in car and now have integrated BT), I think I will more from a watch with a band that has the features that I want, mainly for battery efficiency, GW3 needs to be recharged every 2 days, GW4 was worse and sent back :P

And yet, WearOS was nice but not 'on point' at the moment imo :)

I'd personally prefer a traditional watch over these "smart"watches anyday!!
If I really wanted I would rather buy a Fitbit or Garmin just for activity tracking.
I don't understand the appeal of the 25k+ smartwatches tbh (let alone apple watches), when one could get a way better (imho) mechanical watch for similar money (a shame we dont get the MoonSwatch here tho😥, I was willing to buy one)
However, the smartwatches under 10k at least do make some sense and are worth buying I guess

Correction. Those are SmartBands disguised as SmartWatches...

I'd really like to hear the user experience of members o of this forum that have used any of the top 4 brands mentioned in this article. Especially if they also used watches from the will known brands especially Samsung that came in fifth on the list
