Yes it's not dejavu. Even realme 9 5g asian is rebrand from realme 8s 5g so it's not the first time realme doing this. The best is avoid their phones because u will wait forever for software upgrade ( BBK prefer release new/rebrand phones rather release new upgrade software to old phones).

There is a good, affordable and capable linup of Dimensity 700-900 series, and they ignore it completely. It's all dissapointing.

And this is why I despise most of Chinese phone makers. Their idiotic spamming of phones to the market and constant rebranding which often ends up being a rebranding of an already existing rebranding. It's ridiculous. And having so many models just means they absolutely can't support them properly in software which is why all of them have absolutely terrible software support that's often way too short, some arbitrary absurdity and often price based. Pay 1000€ and they'll give you 3 years of updates. Spend 200€ and some have the audacity to literally promise nothing. You can get a year of updates or none at all. What?! Yeah, looking at you Realme. But other BBK brands aren't really any different. OnePlus spamming weird Nord models with same non existent arbitrary software support are also among them.

So BBK will sell rebadged phones across its brands every other day, but it's keeping the same name for a phone with a different chip, different primary camera, and a display that's a different size, resolution and refresh rate? Do these people have a strategy apart from "Let's release a new phone today"?
