AnonD-731363, 11 May 2022Besides, a charger can be bought separately. But you can... moreCloud storages are inferior while costing much, just as wireless (bluetooth) audio devices are. By the way, anyone could still have both on phones that have SD slot and 3.5mm jack. Who exactly said you must look like a Christmas tree???
Until you can present a good argument against SD slot and 3.5mm jack, you lack something coherent to say.

Cyberchum, 12 May 2022€20 and €40 more than two phones that sell way, way more an... moreIt's very simple. Non-market leaders can't demand high prices. By the way, I can buy an S22 Ultra 256 GB for about $1,100 right now. The price may be even lower when the Xperia 1 IV is available.

Hildr, 11 May 2022Comparing what's comparable:
Xperia 1 IV: 1399€
Ipho... more€20 and €40 more than two phones that sell way, way more and enjoy much more recognition and loyalty than you isn't a good move by a company that wants to stay afloat. Making €20 profit after ALL expenses is definitely better than attempting to make €50 now, only to end up making less than €5 after sometime (this is an example). This shouldn't be difficult to understand.
However much few people on the internet wish to applaud Sony (don't get me wrong, they make some nice phones), this strategy won't keep them going for long. Fewer and fewer sales would be made over time, because fewer and fewer people could or would be willing to spend that much extra, especially considering the inferior software support on offer. If they keep with this, one shouldn't expect it to be long before the total cost of production and logistics outweigh the profit that would come from the volume of sales.
If they fail to make needed changes and bow out as LG did, that would be one less competition, and there'd still be people in the comment section expressing disappointment and fondness at the same time. Ultimately, those fans and Sony would be the losers.

AnonD-731363, 11 May 2022Man please educate me which single brand gives water damage... moreSamsung did for my S7 tears ago. Stop saying nonsense pls, if a device is waterproof and breaks due to water it's covered by the warranty. And no it doesn't stop working immediately, it took me a while to do it. And there's no way for the manufacturer to know how much time it stayed under water, it's not like a broken screen.
This case is not comparable to IP68, IP68 is not for diving but it can survive for 30 mins underwater until a certain depth.

GregLu, 12 May 2022Don't forget the 'real' price after all the ... moreExactly. to the point. Sony software is good but still lacks behind Samsung. Samsung has very good support and with the new promise of 4 years updates, in android world its in the best category.
For me personally display resolution and color calibration is a big fact. I have a Sony Xperia 1 MKI and its display is awesome. i like it way better than my iphone 13's display. I would definitely buy mkIV but only for 1000 not for 1400.

Whackcar, 11 May 2022You're ignoring all the good things they've kept ... moreHe simply countered the claim that they aren't following other brand. They are definitely doing even if it's to a very small extent. No need trying to drag something else into it. The claim could and should have added "virtually" or "almost" somewhere, but decided to exaggerate, instead.

continuous zoom is a great feature but I'd rather minimum optical range started from 55mm, not 85mm. 4K display is just an overkill. they should have used a 2K LTPO screen to improve battery life. portrait shots still can't apply HDR. understand not boosting the shadows for a natural look but, night shots still have too much blown highlights in main cam. zoom and UW cams definitely need a night mode.

AnonD-731363, 11 May 2022First, you need to know your facts because anyone with bit ... moreYou are a OnePlus delusional fanboy and the truth hurts a lot. OnePlus band is dead get over it and move on and I don't even buy Sony phones. Whether sony phones are stock android or not the point is they are no bloatware on sony phones and OnePlus has changed from oxygen os to color os and that's a trash os. Any cloud account can be hacked by a well trained hacker even if you use maximum password protection so a miro SD card is far safer and secure than cloud storage accounts that's the painful truth. OnePlus 10 pro snap-in halve very easy with no force you need to watch JerryRigEverything video and stop talking non sense. Build quality is very important on any device especially if you using the device on the road or at home you want a device that if it drop or sit on it by accident it won't break or crack easily. Any smartphone manufacturer that provides IP65/IP68 dust/water resistant certification on any smartphone it's cover in the one-year warranty by the manufacturer. I had my phone replaced due to water damage and it was covered by the warranty that's how I know for fact so do your research before talking rubbish and a case won't protect it from water and dust 💯 %. OnePlus band is trash period and I give OnePlus 2 or 3 years before they leave the smartphone market just like lg did for good.😅😂🤗

Been some time since a flagship had me excited, even though I just got myself a new phone. Arguably the most complete flagship phone of all time. Barring the price, can't think of anything else to nitpick about.

There were so many technical promises for the mark III but it remains a disappointing phone. It released with prototype quality and even the software still isn't fixed. Sony can barely manage to release security patches every other month. Forget about buggy software ever improving.
Sony doesn't have a workaround for Google crippling the microSd card, so forget about using that.

However the price difference is on average a little more than that and these sonys are not comparable to the ultras. They are comparable to the pros and pluses in size and battery. So more price difference

Xperia 1 IV: 1399€
Ipho... moreDon't forget the 'real' price after all the promotions by Samsung. Upon launch, I had the S22 Ultra 512 in Green for a flat price of 900-920 EUR, when I've removed the Galaxy Buds Pro (sold) and all the incentives (-25 via Samsung Members + 150 deduction for a phone, any phone like a Nokia 3310 is ok), even now there is some incentives that drop the price too. But again, not a MicroSD slot, that Sony offer and for me, a flat/no punchhole screen ! But at 1400 EUR, that's 500 more ... Quite a bit. And as much as I like (loved in the past with some Xperia previsouly) Sony, on the software side, they didn't meet my criteria, so, asking for 'that' much money isn't okay for me :p
And that's why Samsung sell a lot more too, given the fact that they actually advertise. Perhaps Sony prefer to keep it low and making it in the 'higher' price point where the money is? I understand the move, but they'll need to deliver then, when the price is high, expectations are in the same range! :)
