Hopefully it's better on battery and cooling. The regular Gen 1 is trash in comparison to the Snapdragon 888.

I don't game so i don't care about benchmarks, i want nice battery life in a flagship phone. Bth SD 888 and 8gen1 are very poor in power management. Hopefully TSMC process can fix 8gen1.

Just put an iPhone in front of them and watch them implode because they just can't compute numbers that are small on paper, but deliver big in real world use. Like, they just can't seem to wrap their head around RAM amount on iPhones or smaller number of CPU cores or smaller number of megapixels on cameras. They just want bigger and bigger numbers on paper and they either don't know what they even mean or they just don't care for as long as they are bigger, even if they don't do anything meaningful.

this is great! that's mean the plus bring a lot of power reduction, i believe the power consumption will be like 40-30% reduction just like mediatek dimensity 9000 and don't forget qualcomm design always have better efficiency vs mediatek on same maf
for comparison sake let use 3dmark wild life score with 865 as base (best gpu with sustained performance )
865 gpu average 3800
870 gpu average 4150
888 gpu throttled/sustained 3500 , peak 5100
8 gen 1 throttled/sustained 6000 , peak 10.000
so we can see even 8 gen 1 phones with good cooling system still run 60% faster than 865 on throttling
now with 8 gen1+ add 10% performance we can see 11k score on 3dmark wild life and again for comparison
8 gen 1 throttled/sustained 6000
8 gen 1 with fan throttled/sustained 8000 (red magic 7)
so for my prediction :
8 gen 1+ throttled/sustained 8000 , peak 11k
8 gen 1+ with fan throttled/sustained 10k (red magic 7)
so basically a 8 gen1+ phone gpu is twice as fast as 865 phones which is great and the red magic series can almost reach almost 3x times the performance of 865
now the reason they don't OC the cpu because from the data (golden reviewer)the cortex x2 and a510 does not improve power consumption at all

nice move by qualcomm, instead of overclocking the cpu which has a power hungry cortex X series, they just overclocked the gpu. Asus will really going to use this plus version bcos it is now tsmc node instead of the samsung node, which they are tired to cool the sd 888/+

Sad that Xperia 1 IV couldn't wait for this. I bet RoG Phone 6 will have this along with a headphone jack. I'd unfortunately by RoG than Sony because of the TSMC made SD8G1+
