How can some people be so ignorant! “For those claiming Apple will lose money due to losing the proprietary port, the USB-C to USB-C cable is selling for the same amount as the lightning cable on Apple’s Website”… Umm, hello! Proprietary connection standards command licensing fees when THIRD PARTIES use them. Why on earth would Apple charge more themselves? They have a higher profit margin on the same product over third parties. All those licensing fees will disappear; of course they’ll lose money! Significant money! That being said I welcome the change. Although I prefer the Apple ecosystem, I don’t like being forced to use a specific cable when everything else uses the same one (including most other Apple products). It’s just one more cable I need to carry around.

77, 12 May 2022Apple copies everything from android You apple and fans u... moreOk Avril Lavigne… He was hater-boi, he said… really ignorant sh*t! Of course, you think Apple is copying when it’s purely due to being forced by the EU. Well, it’s a better interface, technologically, so it was probably bound to happen at some point anyway, but still super ignorant to consider it “copying”. You’re too blind to realise that copying goes both ways, and how much Apple has innovated over the years that has paved the ground for Google and other technology companies. Google would not be Google as we know it without Apple, and vice versa. Stop being so arrogantly polarised!

You apple and fans u... moreFunny, I can remember distinctly all the flack Touch ID got as a ‘gimmick’ when the 5S came out, all that went away promptly when fingerprint readers start showing up out of the blue on Android devices soon after, by sheer coincidence I’m sure…..
Same goes for the Retina display, actually working and viable video calling with FaceTime, a service Google still struggles to replicate by the way (Duo anyone……anyone at all……hello????), portrait mode photography, slow motion video etc…..
Some of these features were tried and I cannot stress the ‘tried’ enough on Android prior sure, but nobody really took those efforts seriously. They sure weren’t copied until Apple did them, take the fingerprint reader that rarely and barely read fingerprints on the Motorola Atrix, or Samsung early lacklustre efforts at artificial bokeh for examples.
Apple did those things right first, caught a lot of flack from the Android faithful for being nothing but gimmicks, then when actually working versions of those features started popping up on Android’s soon there after, all that criticism seemed to just magically vanish.
Point is this, your criticism goes both ways dude!

And besides, like you have pointed out, there is a work around.

Anonymous, 12 May 2022i have no problems using the fingerprint sensor on my phone... moreAnd who brought up idiocy that FaceID doesn't work in dark? That's just dumb statement. IR dot projector doesn't care if it's pitch black darkness and front camera gets enough light from display itself when you raise the phone for this not to even be a problem. FaceID worked in darkness 100% of the time in my 3,5 years long use. I'd say it's pretty reliable and consistent.

iOS is just the Vanilla/lite OS of the iPadOS.
the iPadOS is closer comparable to Android OS.
iPad Air M1 with iPadOS is a better stuff than iPhone A15 iOS, for productivity, for gaming.
no meaning to spend for a phone with less.
