The advantage of eink is not (just) the reduced battery life.
Its that you have an entirely passive display, which does not need any backlight whatsoever.

That means looking at it is just as pleasant as looking at a piece of paper and even if it somehow used up more energy it would still be the superior technology for static content.

Apple knows that there is a market for smaller phones, but they know that it's not giant enough to warrant making a 'mini' flagship every year. The 12 mini did NOT sell as well as the rest of the series, and it's likely to be the same case for the 13 mini when sales numbers come out. Their SE works as their 'compact small smartphone' which is why they're likely to refresh the SE next year or at most 2024, and binning the 14 mini for a 14 Max instead.

That being said though, for now, the iPhone 13 mini is definitely a good small phone. I would wait out getting an SE until they use the XR-like design or whatever design they plan to use for the SE4.

They both emit light and that is what harms the eyes (blue light mostly). E-ink is different but you have to read them without emitted light to protect your eyes, otherwise it would be the same again.

Right now, reading on LCD is way healthier for eyes than reading on OLED, Amoled, POLED or whatever they call it. Watch these panels in Slow-motion or open WhatsApp camera and watch through it.

Foldable for iPhone and iPad? A folding iPhone with greater screen size will still run iOS? Meaning no apps running in split screen? Or maybe they'll have iFoldOS
