Musk says a Twitter deal at a lower price is "not out of the question"

17 May 2022
Elon Musk has said that the deal can't proceed at the original price of $54.20 per share if Twitter can prove that it has 5% or less fake accounts.

I hope he loses because history showed that he is just an expert in manipulation, and this was all just hype to manipulate the markets.

The thing that troubles me, with all what has already been said, is that there was no need to "expose" Twitter because he would just have to continue what is already working.

Let's say you sign a deal to buy an iPhone. No one knows that Apple is selling your data (although everyone suspects it). Well, you either backup from the deal and expose Apple, either you resell back your iPhone at high price.

What is the point in exposing Apple knowing that you could have just go along with it and sell back the iPhone aat high price ?

This is why I suspect that this guy is being sneaky, probably some market influence illegal non sense.

Anonymous, 18 May 2022I believe at least 50-60 % accounts in twitter accounts are... moreAgreed every active user in Twitter have atlest two accounts for different things. So the actual user base is really very miniscule.
Oh yeah agree with your point that more alternatives are needed and platforms should act as platforms not editor-in-chief of biased news agency forwarding a political agenda.

pjcamp, 18 May 2022It was an impulse buy that he now regrets. But he has a HUG... moreHe already signed a contract?

It was an impulse buy that he now regrets. But he has a HUGE problem. He already knew about the bot problem as he has tweeted about it for some time. Griping about the number is something that falls under the legal heading of "due diligence." The contract he signed specifically waives his right to due diligence. It also contains a specific performance clause. Unless he can prove that Twitter made a material misrepresentation of facts, he can be forced to go through with the purchase whether he wants to or not. Further, it contains a non-disparagement clause which he has already broken. So if it goes to court, he loses.

I understand why he wants to back out. The price he agreed to was prior to the current market decline. His Tesla stock is worth considerably less now, and his Twitter offer is way higher than the current Twitter stock price. But the fact that his butt hurts is not an allowable reason to terminate the contract under the terms of the contract he voluntarily signed.

Anonymous, 18 May 2022I believe at least 50-60 % accounts in twitter accounts are... moreThe only reason he wanted Twitter was to be able to maximise his own asset value manipulation. That is the way he got rich and the crashing value of Tesla is the reason he can't afford to buy it any longer. He doesn't care one iota about your "free speech".

I believe at least 50-60 % accounts in twitter accounts are fake or multiple accounts by marketing companies or paid/unpaid fans promoting varies things including, celebrities, politicians or their agendas and policies, rather than actual bloggers or readers.
Hope Musk uses twitter to launch a video platform to rival youtube, devoid of leftist censorship, shadow banning and that sort of undemocratic methods.

It someone looks like Musk is trying to play with his influence. It's becoming an habit, Musk shows interest creates the hype and then suddenly after sometime the interest goes down or the deal does hot happen.
                            Smell something fishy.

Anonymous, 17 May 202290% of comments on the most popular twitter posts are bots.... moreNot 90% but high number of users are hits or fake accounts.
The only reason twitter is still up is cause major celebrities and politicians have account on it. The whole US govt is on twitter talking about their policies, Iran govt has twitter account.

The day they start moving, the clock will start ticking.

We shouldn't pay to bots anyway.

From what we see Twitter hide some crucial information and, interestingly, is a something that can concern even those who use the platform.
If over 20% are bots, a lot of companies will pull out the money because they get nothing.
