AnonD-104964, 30 Jan 2013We must appreciate the efforts taken by Micromax and Karbon... moreAgreed !
I would consider these phones jokes when the reputed makers would reduce their profit margins just a bit and start pricing their similar products anywhere close to these devices.

We must appreciate the efforts taken by Micromax and Karbonn and They really give very high end device at a reasonable price. I did end up buying one. But what I felt these phones looks good in papers but not in reality. Because of Low resolution screens. they really need to work on Phone screen.

goatwhore, 29 Jan 2013obviously it has to be a mediatek 6589 with the powervr 544... more* Cortex a7 architechture not arm v7.
Arm v7 is an instruction set that cortex a9 and even cortex a15s follow.

This one dosen't have Mediatech 6589 its having snapdragon cpu with Adreno 203 GPU which is very less than SGX 544 in Micromax A116
phone size is good with 4.5 inch screen with qHD display
its phone not phablet like A116

Karboon doesn't create hype like micromax by shorting supply of their product

The karbonn website says it has a 1600 mAh battery "that never runs out"... good luck with that...

I have used both karbonn and micromax, and the high-end phones they offer are delight, not comparable to iPhone or galaxy S3 but at this cost they are excellent.
After using these phones I think that the joke is buying an android for >$400... lol

obviously it has to be a mediatek 6589 with the powervr 544. . low power consumption and stuff. the same as the micromax devices but still a very bad option to have one of this. good gpu. but it can barely run N.O.V.A. due to the armv7 architecture... old fashioned . revamped but again not powerful as a cortex a9.

AnonD-77776, 29 Jan 2013no 3G support? You got to be kidding me..it supports 3g but only in one sim slot the other sim must b 2g,u cannot even imagine a quad-core android smartphone which does not supports 3g no matter which country u live in, checkout its specs in gsmarena itself if u have a doubt.

Its made for India phone where people still prefer 2G as rates are as cheaper as 1.5$/gb compare to 6$/gb for 3g. Also 3g coverage is poor. meaning u r swutched to 2g on 3g network in most of the cases.

No 3G is no shocker to Indian user

Could have been good, but only Edge?! Didn't see this for a long time in a smartphone... should rather have used a dual core chip and ad 3G or LTE..
