Samsung quietly makes the Galaxy M13 official

I see Samsung still has that nasty explosive diarrhea when it comes to put out phone models.

Many wonder what's the difference between this M13 and the rest. One that's overlooked far too often is the promised # of years for security updates. I ran through Samsung's websites and was only able to find explicit promises for models in A-series and above. Even for A-series, not all have explicit promises, just A33 and above. Reviewers often make claims that lower end models will be supported for X or Z years but they rarely provide a reliable source for the info. I'm sensitive to this topic because the # of years left for guaranteed security update support is THE most important thing I consider when it comes to a new phone. Basically, I split the price of the phone over how many years are left and I get a yearly cost and that's what I use to compare with other phones.

So consider one difference between M or F series models and the rest is they'll be supported on a "best effort" policy, without guarantees, depending on how many they sell and where, with much less frequent security updates, etc.

              blue, 27 May 2022Why? It's nearly the same as A13.This is sadly what a lot of the M series phones have been. M12 and A12 are essentially the same, maybe only screen difference if I remember right.
