Is anyone here even commenting about the article here? I'd like for this article to explain the difference as to what Google is already doing for voice recognition. Because, we already have to speak words out to improve the recognition during setup.

Anonymous, 30 May 2022Android is made by google. You can not run android without... moreYou can, but the experience is so bad you just as well may not even bother. I've tried and it's really bad. First you have apps that whine about bootloader being unlocked because you know, you had to install a custom ROM, then you scrape F-Droid for apps where selection is super spartan, then you resort to "alternate app stores" that are like treading on a mine field, even worse than GooglePlay and are filled with junk, mislabeled apps and bunch of fakes and modified binaries that do god knows what while pretending to be official apps. It was just so bad I was left with just 2 options, going back to full Android with all the Google's spying junk or just ditch Android entirely and use an iPhone. I ended up opting for the later. It has nothing to do with Google and has complete full experience.

At least it allows locking of bootloader on Pixel phones, something which you can't do on any other phone and which creates all sorts of annoyances with apps that are complaining about unlocked bootloader (mostly streaming and banking apps).

Assistant can't even recognise my language and now it will recognise my voice? Even when I'm speaking English, half the time it doesn't pick up what I'm saying, because duh, my pronunciation sucks. So... yeah, sure, whatever.
