it (crease) forms due to the repeated folding and unfolding of the screen.
That's not true at all, it's by design and does not get worse with time.

'..it forms due to the repeated folding and unfolding of the screen' That is completely false, it's glass not plastic, the crease stays as it was from the day you buy it.

"A smaller crease may be an indication of less stress being put on the display, which will improve its longevity."

It's actually the opposite. A smaller crease is greater stress on a smaller surface area.

Samsung must instead work on making foldables durable. And removing that panel gap when folded. The screen crease isn't too much of an issue but any improvement is welcome

We still need to wait another 3 years for this thing to be perfected. So, no buy for me.

I always find the crease on the Flip isn't too bad, but improvement is always welcome. So, this is great news.

So far his leaks seem to be pretty solid. Last year he reported twice there would not be a crease and he was wrong. I doubt he would do that again if he wasn't sure.

Samsung simplified the spine and they are only using one hinge this time around. If you start folding a paper from the middle, the ends won't have a strong crease until you slide your hand up and down along the fold. This could be why it will have a smaller crease. That's only speculation though.
