Congratulations Louis Rossmann, this happened mainly because of you and your efforts over the past several years. Cheers on a job well done.

The Right To Repair movement has nothing to do with "repairs under warranty". There is a law for that already (Magnuson-Moss), even if companies break it all the time.
RTR opposes crap like parts serialization, the need of the company's blessing (just a "beep!" from a proprietary gadget to "OK" a vendor-lock system) after a replacement part is put in place. Stuff like not allowing their chip providers to sell the chips to someone else (mostly a distributor, who then sells it to repair shops), so you don't need to toss a $1500 device because a $30 chip failed. Stuff like selling you the full top panel (keyboard, touchpad and battery) if you just want to replace just a battery, or the full display assembly if just the backlight failed. Crap like forcing you to go to their repair center, only for them to not have enough personnel to take care of the repairs in a timely fashion (yeah, wait for six months for the tractor that you need working again in two days).
Louis Rossmann has countless videos going to the detail on what RTR is and what it is not.

doubt its happening in cali where apple resides.

                  LG G6
