Samsung and Sony are both great phone makers, while Samsung is just a little more advanced. They both make great quality devices in mobiles. When it comes to home electronics though....it changes. Almost everything Samsung makes is quality. Sony on the other hand focuses way to much on fast production and a lot of things are a roller coaster of quality or not. Like sereos, pc's, ps3, psp and sucha s well as software for the playstation suit. In mobiles Samsung has almost always had more advanced phones and cameras. They have been in lead competition with Nokia. Not to say Sony is bad or has never been up there themselves.

I am Lovely Samsung Galaxy s 4 too... Yaar yaar yaar, this is most unbreakable corning gorilla glass 3 on screen and front 3MP 1080p 30fps.

But ... morehaaaaaa....xperia z...forget man..when xperai s was on the hand people said the same thing..b8 what happened..you know...and sony's big problem is their hardware finishing and fixing...take gaalxy s2/3 and xepria s/z and capture a full resolated photo.then zoom and see what happen :)

But the Z will finally beat the Galaxy this time.
It has a Bravia Engine 2 5 inch full hd screen.
Galaxy has a 4.99 inch super hd amoled.
While these LED screens have better black levels than LCD, it has over saturated colors.
So LED is about 50% as good as is LCD 50% as good of a whole one isn't better then the other.
They both have advantages, for me it's a color thing.
The Z also have the option to calibrate your screen so you can make it as dark as you would like and also over saturate your colors to your likings.
The camera of the Z will easily outrun any smartphone cam.
It is a 13.1mp cam with a Exmor RS lens and HDR.
This is unparalelled, the Z also has the best design and has closed up holes.
The water and dust proof feature is a nice bonus butt i don't even use it in comparisson.
The audio also has way much better quality, used to have sony ericsson phones for the walkman function.
Had a Galaxy S2 before the Xperia S, Sony easily beat the Samsung in audio.
It has a rich sound while the Samsung sounded like cheap plastic crap.
The android version of Samsung is more elaborated butt luckily in stuff you don't miss.
Samsung has more kiddy options more playfull, which impresses simple soles.
Sony is a professional experiance in audio and video in a nice expensive design.
Samsung while beating the Sony in the power specs is not important only when you game your ass off.
Which is still not possible without buttons.
If you wan't to play games buy a handheld or console.
People gaming console like games on a phone are just really driven to have crappy game experiance.
If i can't play it with good controlls and gameplay because the lack of buttons i just choose to not game.
It's only fun for Angry Birds and games like those, which you don't need a double quad core for.
So while the really powerfull Samsung may look fun it's just stuff you don't need.
Final verdict, if you are easily impressed with no relevant software and hardware specs get a S4.
If you wan't high end hardware on stuff which truely matters Get a Xperia Z.

People say no need for 1080p now because its newer but they say the same about every new thing. Technically i believe all phones are pentile. But not in the phone world. Where as a tv with any less than 5 or 6 pentile...i believe. gotta re check

S4 is pretty predictable already.. Quad core / 2gb ram / sdslot 16 gb / 5 inch / 1080p / amoled.
Why not release something small lightweight thin unexpected device?? Yawn
