I always root all my devices. As a rule. If it cant be rooted I don't buy it. And I recently sold a rooted tabs6 because it was rooted. Rooting is as popular and useful as it ever was. I dunno what all these misinformed randos are going on about...

Yall are talking about security this safety that but yall dont seem to understand that the only way that you can make a system level backup of your entire phone (the ONLY true security) is by rooting...

I remove all the spy/bloatware installed on my devices by the manufacturer. I remove all the google garbage I can. I spoof my location for pokego. I can emulate full desktop windows (works amazing on my tabs8 ultra but windows is inferior to android in almost every way so it's just a curiosity but it's still cool i guess...), I rip ads out of every single app. I can see and edit all the hidden game assets and save files, ect., ect.

If you think custom roms are the only reason to root you aren't even scratching the surface.

You bought your phone but until you root it, you'll never truly own it. Done wait for companies like google and samsung to dripfeed you features rooting would have already gave you 10 years ago. And don't swallow any hogwash about StOck AndRoId Is GooD eNouGh.

It's not and it never will be.

AnonD-864404, 10 Jun 2022Now tell me how many people apart from, let's say thos... moreYeah it was in the past.. Because ppl who was making custom roms gave up..
And there was not much apps tor tewaking...
Mostly it was good if they wanted rebrand phone or convert china version onto the global that was amazing... I did in the past Huawei device P8 I loved P8. Ppl installed custom roms becsue in the past android or iOS sucked.. but not anymore..
Problem is now that people got more scared because rooted / jailbroken phone is unsafe..
And custom roms were buggy too

AnonD-844232, 09 Jun 2022Pretty much the same... Android s same linux as on PC 🤷‍♂️ ... moreNow tell me how many people apart from, let's say those XDA savvy mess with their root folder, if not interested? Almost all regular android guy do normal stuff so they don't need to tweak in system files which makes sense not putting effort for rooting in new android versions.

And speaking of Linux, man that's another whole infinite topic - Windows vs Linux. People do have access to C drive but I don't believe many people visit the system32 folder occasionally.

Oh no I only have version 10

If the android wouldn't have all those locking and restriction added all would be good ..
Android is just another cisco modified linux kernel with tons of restrictions added ... and permissions crap...
Rooting is already dead.. but rooting is basically clean linux .. like you have it on PC

Don't mix PC and Smartphones. They serve different purposes. Also most of the features you needed to be unlocked after rooting in available in modern device nowadays anyway. Rooting is becoming obsolete, if not dead yet, for next few years.

Google should release updates like every 2 years. Yearly updates are incremental and boring.(android 12 was big though). Android 13 should have been android 12.5?
They features are just a slight improvement over android 12
