Well good luck with disabling animations on MIUI, I tested that on Mi9Lite and MIUI12.x and its not possible. I mean, its possible to turn it off in Developer menu but it has zero effect because launcher just overrides - and its really slow. I want fast and responsive home launcher, thats why Im staying on MIUI11 with animations 0.5x and not gonna update. Probably buy new phone but not Xiaomi anymore..

Fht112, 10 Jun 2022So it wasnt smooth and fluid all this timeyou just realized?

Shadocx, 10 Jun 2022Which Redmi? This comparison doesn't seem fair if it&#... moreIt's a K30 5G, which is powered by a Snapdragon 765G SoC, and I doubt that such SoC is not powerful enough to handle 120Hz displays smoothly.
And I'm not talking about smoothness when doing intensive tasks. I'm merely just comparing their smoothness in their respective home screens and I figured that the One UI feels snappier and more responsive to my inputs compared to the MIUI, which in itself is still silky smooth but simply not as responsive.
Considering that it's the same MIUI 13 as on the flagship Xiaomi devices, I seriously doubt there's a lot of difference in terms of smoothness, because that's just how the two software skins are built and got nothing to do with the SoC.

Anonymous, 10 Jun 2022Disable animations? That’s kinda cringe bro, but you do youAnimations can be what slows the system down, or make it feel sluggish due to a lagging animation. I also like to disable them. iOS also has animations which feel like they last forever each time the view on the display changes. Not that iOS would exactly be slow per se, but the animations of the UI makes it seem sluggish.

I just hope they cater for third party launchers or add more features to oneui launcher. There are so many launcher features that I get from Nova that oneui doesn't have. Would love to see more regular oneui launcher feature updates or more os compatibility with third party launchers

And yeah, laggy Samsung phones are usually the ones with Exynos.

They keep singing the same old song with every big update, and yet the issue of micro-stutters and instability remains.
I am getting tired of them, unfortunately there is no Android OEM with the same amount of software support as Samsung (Google is, but it's even more unstable than Samsung).
