Genshin impact on Galaxy S8 tablet requires more RAM than it has. Only way how to fix that is to cap in game resolution at 90%.

... moreTheir target market are for people that want to buy phone as good as flagship that can do anything including gaming.. Some game emulators required more ram to run, some apps that can be use as multitask need more ram to run simultaneously, plus google & xiaomi services take up alot of Ram space.
It's always good to have more Storage and Ram as phone is not upgradable like PC.
And I guess to this date, Xiaomi did not just offer single tier option for storage and ram as there will always be a lower option for people that have a mindset like you.

8 RAM is more than enough for practically any phone.
Heck 16gb is an overkill for a gaming laptop and you are giving us 12/16 on a phone?

Wouldn't it be more prudent to offer either mSD support or a 512GB option rather than 12GB RAM? Besides with DDR5, I thought RAM speed would have gotten quicker making do with less RAM storage. Feels like we are just down to an era of flashing numbers.
