I know hardly anyone buys Samsung in China as they are just another androdid brand. In terms of China I referred to Apple. What I said was that high end flagships from Chinese brands between 5,000-6,000rmb don't sell well as the vast majority of people willing to spend that much will buy Apple. The bigger sellers for the Chinese brands are in the lower price categories e.g. Redmi K series. In terms of flagships it is entry level flagships or upper midrangers in the 2000-4000rmb that will sell better than the top models as the majority of consumers in the market for a more expensive flagship will choose Apple.

It is more like a flowery vase. Therefore, people do not choose high-end domestic flagship machines just because they have no money, rather than having more expensive but not necessarily better Samsung

Aierlan, 19 Jun 2022They aren't very popular though. If you look at the s... moreThis is normal because the average income of the Chinese people is there. It is not that the flagship machine is not good enough, but that it is almost good enough. For example, the Xiaomi K50, which sold the most in the first half of the year, has the same camera, texture and quality as shit, but does not prevent it from selling well

an ordinary Chinese, 19 Jun 2022I am now in the dormitory of a university in Nanjing, China... moreThey aren't very popular though. If you look at the sales figures for mobiles in the 5000-6000 price range for Chinese brands in China they make up a small percentage of overall phone sales for the Chinese brands. Huawei was the exception before the US restrictions. 3000-4000 is still the sweet spot for these brands for more mainstream sales. The Vivo x80 for example is selling well as it's in that price category but the sales of the x80 pro are much less. The majority of consumers willing to spend that much will buy an iphone

What I want to say is that these flagship machines of Chinese brands are very popular, because their prices are much lower than the international version. The X80 Pro sells for about $870 in China, and the Xiaomi 12pro only needs less than $600

jaaaajie, 16 Jun 2022i believe its price is absurd, just pure absurdWith taxman's share. Most of it goes to deep pockets of connected folks

I think more than 80% of customers don't even use those features for customization even in Android. So ios shouldn't be a problem for them. I have both and i have more important works than just changing the options of my phone regularly.

Even in China the sales of the top flagships from Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi and Honor are very limited (they sell in significant volume only when they offer big price cuts towards the end of their sales cycles to clear the inventory). Not many people will pay the high asking price for any of the top Chinese brands' top level flagships. Basically, consumers willing to pay that much will in the vast majority choose Apple. In the past they would choose Huawei or Apple but as Huawei is no longer able to make 5g phones the high end market is now dominated by Apple. The other Chinese brands are basically hoping they can take the place of Huawei and succeed in the high end market but this will take time and so far none has succeeded. Apple has been the main benefactor of Huawei's demise in China in the high end segment. I think all these brands are hoping that eventually they can create a more luxurious high end brand image and succeed in the long term and if they charge lower prices then people will view them as a 'cheaper' alternative to Apple and Samsung. That cheaper image is hard to shake once it's established

I love the smoothness of iOS, design, how it perfoms and long long support. So for me, maybe iPhone is a perfect device but for people who used to customization and more level of sources like downloading apps via third part websites, they probably don't want to switch to iOS. It's just who prefers what and which software is more comfortable for you.
