Anonymous, 04 Feb 2013Considering how ALL 2011 Xperias have been pretty much side... morei see. before my xperia P, i used to have xperia ray as my main phone, i updated it to ICS and i have yet to experience any problems with it. although i really hope i wouldn't experience one. lol. i was hesitant because GB was really good but because of the influence of xperia P, i updated it yielding to great results.
bought xperia P with ICS out of the box and i thought i bought a bad phone (bad battery life, laggy sometimes, cam bug) but after 2 updates, it became a very good phone already. from 8-12 hours of use to 20-36 hours of use depending on my usage.
sooo based on the updates i received on the two phones, sony isn't that bad. i would prefer occasional but huge updates rather than frequent bug fixes. and i agree with you, instead of asking JB, i'd rather have a very smooth ICS experience although a very smooth JB would be better. lol

AnonD-98064, 04 Feb 2013Sony is Late on update! so who cares
did you see the 4.1 u... moreHow did you get such a rating for this post?
Your first part was OK, and I would rate you up too, but then you start to bash S3 for all the wrong reasons and I was like LOL!
S3 only getting bug fixes with 4.1 update, really??? S3 got that update months ago?
What about the premium pack for S3 and Note2 with tons of new features that XT will never see? S3 is a great phone, but a bit too pricey for me.
I'm a SGS1 user and my next phone will probably be a mid-ranger from Sony.
Give credit where credit is due!

jojosjosh, 04 Feb 2013samsung updates frequently. WHY? they rush things during up... moreConsidering how ALL 2011 Xperias have been pretty much side-lined with a buggy ICS update, I cannot disagree with you more.
Sony has had over half a year to fix the issues (buggy wifi, GUI lags, mono sound recording on video when it's supposed to be stereo etc), with constant requests for updates on the Sony Mobile forums.
There's been nothing. And the Xperia Arc S is in the same buggy boat. And what's a slap in the face is that the Arc S was the Sony (Ericsson) flagship back in its day. You'd think that Sony would at least get the (ICS) OS stable for it. Not like the owners are asking for Jelly Bean.
But no. Here we are 6 months later, not holding our breath (pretty much expecting ALL 2011 phones to become the next Xperia Play: no updates from now on).

samsung updates frequently. WHY? they rush things during update that makes their phone unstable. the frequent updates are more of bug fixes.
sony updates occasionally. BUT it is focused more on improvements and additional features which results to a stable phone and better android experience. there may be bug fixes however, the amount of bugs present may be minimal compared to samsung phones. lol
Quality of updates > Quantity of updates.

AnonD-97496, 04 Feb 2013To all you Samsung fans, I told you so (around a year ago).... moreAnd do you think Xperia S, Acro S, T, P, V etc will get Android 5 KLP? What about Tipo who got stuck on ICS, or Play who got stuck on Gingerbread. Samsung is doing far better with updates than Sony... If you want the ultimate update experience then get a Nexus. Check out Samsung flagship the S3 who got Jelly Bean ages ago (3 months after release) and Sony's flaghship gets it just now lol...

AnonD-98064, 04 Feb 2013Sony is Late on update! so who cares did you see the 4.1 u... morehahaha wrong, that's why you're not an S3 owner. We got Smart Rotation, Multiview, Group Cast, we can use pop-up browser, awesome low light mode for the cam (with no noise in the pictures because it takes 5 shots then combines the best result), and a lot smoother experience. No other phones have these features, S3 RULES

AnonD-86903, 04 Feb 2013i think exactly vice versa. this is Sammy who looks ridicul... moreCan't agree with you or him. But it's true that Samsung has on occasions launched very flawed Android updates, now last time the 4.1.2 for note 2, it gave different problems in different regions and was only now fixed with two new updates. 4.1.1 was much better than 4.1.2, an update that should never have come out. My now 2 became allow and unstable and in other regions they had serious battery drains.
