Motorola Razr 3's price leaks

It will be cheaper than its predecessor.

Although I'm not especially fond of the whole "foil" craze, the only one that carries my preference till now is the Oppo Find N (completely relying on reviews from the lucky ones who had one). The size is right to me as well as the battery department with an autonomy wurthy of the name, no crease at all and as far as I saw a damn good hinge mechanism. Soon the second gen (or better said the gen aimed at global release) will be out. Curious to see that one and it's retail price. Among the Samsung ones, I had the opportunity to play a bit with both ones (flip and foil). It feels great at hand but the battery... especially the flip one is not my cup of tea regardless of the fast charging shizzle. Having to carry one just to come by one day is not my idea of a tool that is supposed to be used for a decent amount of time. I'm still a guy from the old days with dumb phones having juice for several days on one charge. Nowadays you're lucky if you get two full days. Of course the tech of old cannot be compared to the powerhouses of today.

They should become up with a design like the original RAZR, flip 4.5' Oled screen and keypads, Android os

Motorola gives just 1 big android update and 2 years of security updates with phone which probably will be worse than Samsung Galaxy flip 4 which is much cheaper and also will be sold next year for a good discount(i have seen gen 3 flip 850 euros and with Samsung excellent software updates it will get much longer updates than this Motorola even if you buy it year or two later!

Anonymous, 17 Jun 2022Foldables are a gimmick. Durability is a joke in these thingsReally? Have you actually owned a foldable? It's almost two years since I got from work my Fold2. I treat it the same way I treated all my previous phones (which included several iPhones, Galaxies and Sonys) and I see no difference. Yes, the internal screen is more sensitive but the phone is closed when you carry it, so it's actually more protected than the average phone.

The mechanism is a sturdy as when I bought it and the crease is there, but this is mostly aesthetics and in no way durability-related. Then again, if you get your kicks by scratching your phones with needles and screwdrivers, then you are right, foldables are a gimmick.

In the meantime, I use my Fold for video calls, text and excel editing, media consumption, with no problem whatsoever, enjoying the huge screen. The only practical drawback I see is in the camera department, but then again it is a corporate phone, so productivity is the primary use.

The flip phone could be better for watching flicks and minor multi tasking. But the inner screen proportion, and the outer screen size have to be ideal.
Also, the camera quality, battery, pricing, durability, fluidity of switching between screens, and extras like IP resistance or stylus support etc could decide how many more people migrate to flip phones.

I would better buy premium mid ranger and the rest i will spend on PC upgrade.

Razr 5G has been a forgettable experience. I use my phone so much that I find opening and closing it so annoying. Foldables are not for me.

That's still $200 more than the Flip 4. It translates to $1200. That's $300 more than how much I got my Flip 3 since getting a $100 discount and $700 more than how much I got my Razr 5G. I got my Razr 5G at a bargain price of $500 when T-Mobile priced it that much last September. And the Razr 5G still sports the nicer design with the iconic RAZR chin.

I will still be watching this Razr 3. Michael Fisher covers flip phones the best. He knows them so well since his first 8 phones were flip phones. It's the form factor that got me into the cell phone hobby back in 2004 wanting that Motorola V600 so badly before the RAZR V3 came out. My favorite form factor for any cell phone.

I tried going back to slabs to not stress my current clamshells and I can't. A slab feels too awkward. My destiny is with only flip phones for now on. It feels like a lightsaber to me when I flip them open and then that satisfying feeling and sound when it gets closed.
