Armv8 is in fact the most mature platform one can get now and its better to go with a mature, time proven platform than going with new armv9 which takes time for software optimizations tailored for it to happen. By the time software developers take advantage of the newer Armv9, the initial few generation processors based on it already became slow and outdated calling for an upgrade anyway.

Because why would you buy something unproven when there is other very much proven available? A52s is an excellent phone, one of best mid rangers actually even today. Plastic back is a bit of annoyance for me personally, but still, it's a 250€ phone. I can look past that (I couldn't on Galaxy S21 at 900€).

Sounds like it's gonna be dead on arrival. Other than the few hardcore fans buying it, the middling specs and limited availability and other marketing BS will turn away people from wanting it.

I'm currently using an A52S with the 778G and i don't feel the need for a more powerful SOC, and i game quite a bit

Very good news!!!! This is one of best and most power efficient chips on the market. Forget 8gen1 phones, they all have horrible battery life. NO-ONE can see difference between SD 865/778 and 8gen1....except battery life!!! All these chips perform great in daily tasks and games, just the 8gen1 heats up too much.
