Asus ROG Phone 6 will be splash-resistant

It's being advertised as the "world's 1st IPX4 gaming phone."

With the Asus ROG 6 release, I wonder if the phone will still easily snap in half. I'm looking to be a victim so I can get attention. Look at my overpriced, now broken, gaming phone! Lol.

      Asus should put more effort in to durability and reliability, because there current units are just poor and a waste of money. Buy another brand.. 🙄

        Anonymous, 26 Jun 2022"splash resistant" doesn't say much if you&#... moremy phone has splash resistance and I experienced dropping my phone in a puddle and also got it soaked during a moonsoon and I got it checked on both occassions if the water breached it but when the technician opened the phone the water seal was intact and it was dry. the higher IP ratings is only better than Splash Resistance if you plan to use it underwater, a salt desert, or dust storm prone area.

              Even a phones woth no water resistance can survive few rain drops this is just money tossed out of window.
              Good waterproof case do the job much better and much cheaper way than even IP69K along with MIL-STD810 G or H

Then there's the front facing dual speakers a 3.5 mml headphone jack to access studio quality quad DAC for MQA streaming ability which is 🔥 by the way vs Spotify lmao..
                    I'm quite happy with trade off for not 100% water proof but gain better performance lower chip temps dual usb-c input which is handy as they tend to lose ability to hold cable after 2yrs .

                      "splash resistant" doesn't say much if you're caught in a tropical monsoonal rainstorm. IP68 should be the "minimum" standard these days; not because you want to take it swimming but dropping it in water or accidental rainstorm will totally destroy the guts of the phone (I know, been there done that!).

                        I understand that nowadays marketing is everything, but are they fools? Their first ROG Phone was already water resistant IPX4...

                          After seeing that 512GB Internal storage space. The Hype went downhill.

                                IP54 is easily achievable with rubber rings on every opening. Most phones have those, even cheaper ones, they just don't bother with spending money on official certificate.
