KondriX, 28 Jun 2022Honestly after Snapdragon 855 I see no difference in all th... more870's performance is more than enough for me...but the problem is OEMs don't put it in flagship level phones, phones with 870 usually lacks something else, like IP rating or wireless charging, for example Xiaomi 12X
the only cool feature i like from new socs is that you can capture video three lens at the same time and switch between them

Kinda exciting, I hope it works well for them. Hoping they took a step back a bit and focused more on its consistency. Not sure if that is the proper term to use. What I mean is, being powerful and stable where it wouldn't throttle to the point that the performance suffers and slowing down so much.

I think the number '5' is really Qualcomm's lucky number, as their SoCs with number 5 on their names have been their most successful ones.
            (805, 835 to 865/865+, 625, 765/765G, 695)

If it's anything to go by, then perhaps we can assume that the SD 8 Gen 5 would be another huge success for Qualcomm, but I do hope that we don't have to wait that long and already get wonderfully great SoCs starting on their next release.

Honestly after Snapdragon 855 I see no difference in all these flagship chips. Every year they say efficiency and performance has improved 20-30%, but in real life the difference is minimal. Smartphones have become so powerful that the 99% of users are not using half of the power. I would say thet there is no need to release a flasghip every year, more like once in two years. They better spend the resources on actually improving the chipset or better support. But of course 'gamers' will disagree.

Come on QC, show us why you have always been the chips boss, don't let MTK win!

5 months to wait for the 8 gen 2...

Chipset with 4x A720 and 4x A510 would be cool. Should have plenty of grunt without the scorching X core. And a tier lower with 2x A720 and 6x A510 cores.
