The first color photograph [1861]
(+18 rating, 48 votes)
Posted on October 7, 2007
We talked earlier about the first photograph in the history. Now we present you the first color photograph taken by photographer Thomas Sutton under direct supervision of James Clerk Maxwell (nineteen century mathematician) – the famous author of Maxwell Equations.
Maxwell discovered that color photographs could be formed using red, green, and blue filters. He had the photographer Thomas Sutton photograph a tartan ribbon three times, each time with a different color filter over the lens. The three images were developed and then projected onto a screen with three different projectors, each equipped with the same color filter used to take its image. When brought into focus, the three images formed a full color image. The three photographic plates now reside in a small museum at 14 India Street, Edinburgh, the house where Maxwell was born.

AnonD-81610, 06 Feb 2013Hmm... none of the top rated commenters actually read the n... moreMaybe because they even can`t compare with nokia in any terms, battery, screen, build quality, camera. And anything else, if htc were in nokia position to change the os and didn`t choose android, now they weren`t exist anymore.

Hmm... none of the top rated commenters actually read the news or what? You Nokia fanboys are getting really threated or what?
I know you all had very terrible sales of Lumia 920, but geez, give us some rest already!
Now for the news:
I see HTC is giving a shot at a new approach to cameras, I never owned a HTC phone, but I heard that HTC are known for: poor camera performance, poor battery performance and poor signal performance. I hope the camera performance will be astonishing. :)
In EOS news I said that the phone will be a good competition to Android, but I forgot that other manufacturers (eg. HTC) are not sleeping and also innovating. I'm happy with all this progress and will see which camera is better in near future.
Nice! *thumbs up*
PS: HTC was always threatened by Nokia, as was seen few years back in London on a show. Although I don't know why they feel so threatened. :/

I think I will give this M7 a try. I had the original HTC desire and its performance was better than the Samsung Galaxy Note I use now. I hate apple apple and its intrusive setup, not to mention the small display. So, HTC, you better make this baby good.

AnonD-109910, 06 Feb 2013HTC bias camera info graphic - to say 41 M pixel won't help... moreIt is not HTC's view on it. It was a review on the pureview that had mentioned it. Besides where is the Pureview now??? Unless they bring it on the Lumias (as rumored), the pureview couldn't alone get the Nokia out of deep shit

HTC bias camera info graphic - to say 41 M pixel won't help is just soo soooo sour grape. Simply because you could not match up with it, don't try to belittle something that is worthy of an applause.

Pretoria, 06 Feb 2013Geez.. You guys just give htc a break, every new thing htc ... morethe criticises are not about the final product(M7), but for the way is promoted, by bashing Apple(which from what I've seen are on par when it comes to cameras) and Nokia 808 which is the undisputed king in camera phones and that's a fact no matter what everyone's preferences are for mobile manufacturers. What they should have done was come up with a better product and then talk...
