Might as well miss out on the heart rate sensor, since you'll have to sell your heart to buy them. Seriously, ridiculously overpriced. Though good quality.

One of the problems I’m facing now is the reduced battery life. If the price is about the same, I’d be interested in upgrading

AirPods Pro / Max is the king of audio in the Apple ecosystem.
1. Auto switch between iDevices. Doesn't matter if your iDevices have jacks or not, like Mac / Apple tv / Apple watch / iPhones / iPads.. it move seamlessly between them.
2. Best natural transparency mode. Compare to the other headsets which sounds like robots
3. Best respectable battery life.
While others are complaining about the audio, i say it is not far off the competition. On top of that with all the feature it gives iDevices, I will never use any other earphones / headphones.
And if you ask me if i miss the 3.5mm jack and wired earphones? NO, I trade ANC + auto pairing any day. Apple knows the pitiful 3.5mm jack is not able to provide enough power for ANC.. and no one will bother to making usb-c ANC earphones.. the cost is simply not worth it.. while bluetooth allow you to connect to multiple devices.

People claiming AirPods sound bad are just so funny. You do realize you're describing or shall I say doing a quantization of the most subjective thing in the world? Not only we don't hear same thing in same way, we have certain preferences in sounds as well. Some like bass to be more boomy, some like it tighter, some like it deep, others don't like it at all. Saying AirPods sound bad is just a very extreme over-exaggeration. Bad would be if they sounded like a telephone call from 1990. Which they most certainly don't. They may sound bad to YOU in particular, but then, that's your problem, not everyone else's...

Apple earbuds are good for calls. But for music? Of course not. Even JBL will sound better. Imagine Sony Bose Jabra Sennhesier. They will rock. I've used all of them.
