The Android Freak, 05 Jul 2022There are tons of phones from Redmi which support custom ro... moreIf you don't mind the hassle of flashing ROM's through most ridiculous unlocking processes, by digging out most bugged one off ROM's or even the good ones that are perpetually stuck on Nightly channel and feed you crap updates daily, if you don't mind apps whining over unlocked bootloader that then just straight up refuse to work to which you respond with fiddling with Magisk and this goes on and on. Been there, hated every bit of it to a point I just went with iPhone where I get proper official support and I don't have to deal with this nonsense ever again.
If I'll return to Android, it'll be Samsung for sure, because it has great official support that's even better than Google's own (which I mistakenly through it has 5 years of major OS updates, but it's 3+2 instead which is just pathetic for a first party).

The Android Freak, 05 Jul 2022Great support from Samsung.This is what differentiates Samsung from chinese oem's who prefer to glut the market with so many handsets. Instead of providing longer software support. No wonder Samsung is the biggest android vendor. Duh.

Last month I updated my Galaxy A31 to Android 12 and the performance improvements were noticeable. A week ago I sold that device and bought A52s, which I updated to Android 12 right after purchasing. Now, looks like I'll be once again updating my mom's Galaxy A21s to Android 12. Lol. This version's all around the place.

Samsung's Mail App is better then the the google one, Samsung's browser has addblocker, Samsung stores updates the built in Samsung app and you can access themes from Samsung store. Gallery and Music app is better than those google one, which google changes every year. And browser dont automaticly sign into browser.
Only thing I dont like is the Facebook and messenger app as i dont use them and cant delete them, only disable them.
Check carefully during initial setup as many operator install crap during the setup.

SShock, 05 Jul 2022I get it these are entry level models, but come on, Android... moreOn Android phones, Android X to Android X+1 is not that important (unless is a Pixel or maybe Motorola phone). The rest of the manufacturers, usually have their own updated skins, which in many cases have more features than stock Android. In this case, is good that all this phones received One UI 4.1.
The same is for Xiaomi or Realme. That is why some Xiaomi phones are still on Android 11, but with latest MiUi 13 on them. And they aren't missing many things from Android 12.
You can even have Android 6 or 7 on your phone and all the well known apps from Play Store (WhatsApp, Facebook, Netflix, etc.) will still work and get updates without problems, similar like the phone would have been on Android 12. I played with a Galaxy Note 4 in 2022 and the phone is very much usable for basic tasks (including social media). Even though is on Android 6 Marshmallow.

samsung are stupid enough to put android 12 update for those low end devices. hoping it wouldnt lag like crazy except the a21s. that deserves the android 12 update. i feel bad for a02s and a03s users who updates their phone and suffering with stutters and lags. with android 12, you no longer have access to android data and obb folder. so you cant put large games to the obb unless you have to download some 3rd party file managers.
