It would also put this phone in a $800+ range. Android phones don't sell particularly well in that range. Carl Pei is very familiar with Essential. He does not want to mimic the PH-1's fate.

This looks amazing. Although I bought a smartphone not too long ago, I am tempted to switch to this.

why will this even exist? pixel experience is a gsi rom, many custom ones even better
same features, and lack of features, as basically every other phone. unnecessary cameras jacking up the price

I used to think the phone (1) was stupid, but now that I think about it, it's a great mid-range phone. Nothing OS is respectful of Android One (Pixel), they could be an alternative to Pixel phones with Snapdragon hardware due to the fact that Google will only use Tensor in its products.
The phone (1) bears many similarities to spectacular mid-range phones like the Galaxy A52 5G and Pixel 5a.

After seeing some posts and videos, the strong selling point for this phone will be its features, ie: the strobing lights on the back, sure there will be other interesting features, as other users mention the design itself its the same as other android phones so for me it won't work as I enjoy more a flagship design, this 778G chip it's just nahh
