Among all phone makers, only Samsung, Sharp, TCL and Panasonic have own screens.
          All other are clients.

Sorry Oppo, my S22 Ultra screen far better than ur phone.

I just explained super detailed information about what makes LTPO special and your first reaction is to whine over Apple again. My god... Also what's "real 1Hz" lol? 1Hz is 1Hz. There is nothing confusing about it. It either is or isn't. But sure, it's "real 1Hz" if you say so.

OPPO's display is nothing special. The best OLEDs are made by Samsung anyway.

Their phones last much more for the battery size used.
Almost of their phones have less than 3800mAh.

Their panels are much more power efficient than samsung, LG, boe, visionox, china star, tcl etc.

                      Sharp > Samsung, LG

Just because LTPO belongs to Apple, you do not need to try to minimize Sharp when Sharp has done better.

No word about PWM flickering? This is the biggest contributor to the tiredness of the eyes.

Anonymous, 10 Jul 2022What LTPO 2 and 3 do is just what Sharp has done since 2019... moreThat's just what everyone is talking about, but you clearly don't know LTPO more in depth then, if you think this is all. Not only it can go down to 1Hz refresh in adaptive fashion, it can also actually refresh only the pixels that require refreshing. Every other display, it will refresh entire grid of pixels from top to bottom even if you change the color of a single pixel on the panel. LTPO allows to only refresh that single pixel when change is issued. Imagine regular displays as operating in polling mode where changes to pixels are made and it's just rushing refresh rate at high speed to entire panel to quickly reflect the change. LTPO operates in push fashion where change is pushed to the display and it will reflect the change instantly and the rest of pixels that didn't change have their own buffer where they retain the pixel state until they receive a different state. It's why LTPO is quite unique and rather radical. It can run at very low refresh rates and require next to no data input to reflect changes. on 4K display, you basically have to just send few bytes of data to make huge changes instead of sending several megabytes of data because you need to send a full image to the panel in order to display a change of few pixels. This means display interface does less traffic as well as GPU issuing the said visual command.

When LCD panels first emerged after CRT's I actually thought they already operated this way just to learn they still refresh entire surface from top to bottom just like CRT's did. It took almost 15 years or so for this to change and it's still far from mainstream on anything but phones and high end smartwatches.

There is difference between making UI work at determinated refresh rate and the hardware doing it.

Drop down to 1 Hz when there is no need for more.

Sharp is too ahead of koreans when it comes to display tech. Too bad they cant make screens for same price, otherwise they would steal all their clients.

                                      Why the display is special?
