Apple is now barred from importing and selling iPhone 12 and 13 in Colombia

11 July 2022
As well as some newer iPads with 5G since Ericsson was granted a preliminary injunction against Apple for not paying licensing fees on standard-essential patents.

Sort by:

"Apple accepts that the patents are valid, but it believes that Ericsson is overcharging for them"

yeah apple, we do agree you have a great software & cameras but we too believe that you are "overcharging" customers for same.

*** If that relates :P xD ***

May Ericsson always have upper hand on this case. ATB.

    yawn.
This needs to be evened out, if Ericsson wins they should ask for Apple to give their customers the choice to decide the price for their iPhones if they think it's expensive or whatever for as my days as Apple violated their patent. Now that's a show everyone would love to see.
    Yawn.

When did Columbia become the silicone valley of South America?

"But if this is just the first domino to fall, Apple may be in trouble and it will have to pay Ericsson’s fee for the patents. Apparently, Apple pays less than $15 SEP royalties per phone"

If other countries follow the verdict, Apple will definitely push the costs to the consumer to keep their healthy profit margin. Thus, the retail price will increase.

It's why the first iPhone was such a success because it just worked. Today iOS and Android are about equal as far as UX goes, and Xiaomi's MIUI is the best of both worlds, essentially an iOS skin over Android.

Hahahaha Apple accusing someone for overcharging!

            THE IRONY!!!

              "overcharging" hahahahaha

In 2020 I bought my first ever iPhone, the iPhone 11 Pro Max. For the first TWO WEEKS after buying it I constantly felt like swearing at it. Not because it didn't work but because everything seemed arranged in a very illogical manner. Over time I've gotten used to it but I definitely prefer my Samsung phone (with its S Pen 🙂) . I have an Apple Watch and have sold most of my Galaxy watches. I'm still undecided about what to replace my aged HP laptop with. Amazingly, I'm 70% in favour of a Mac.

Kev, 11 Jul 2022Well, this is like Apple is following Huawei's ill-fat... moreThe ease of use thing is an imaginary made up concept because people who are used to ios think its easier cause it's what they are used to.
But in reality the setup tends to be a little confusing to the less tech savvy on either.
And simple tasks like messages and Facebook are just as easy on either.
Though sometimes the setup confuses people on iPhone a little more. And their settings menu has improved but tends to be a little less intuitive for certain things.

The only reason people say android is more complicated is they are used to ios or they think that because you can do more that somehow that translates to it being more complicated. Even though you can ignore the more complicated things you don't need

Yeah good complaint from a company that is known to heavily overcharging everything for there own customers. They probably overcharge all the patents they have for other brands to use also.

As a kid, I learned how to use Symbian, which was more obscure with certain options but shared a lot of terminologies with Windows at the time.

Windows Phone was super easy to use, same for Android. People dont want to learn because they are lazy and want to be spoon fed.

Just ask any of your iPhone friends what they do with their phone?

FB, Instagram, Whatsapp/Telegram and photos. That's it. No need to check on settings for anything more than turning on wifi/bluetooth, no need for ADB or root.
