Could this be the SoC that Wear OS needs to move forward?

vk, 13 Jul 2022to compete with Apple.. Google and Microsoft to work more t... moreI get your point, you used Apple and MS as example. Two very different business models. Google will be a hybrid of both companies named, the only way not to destroy the business.

A single 12MP camera supoort, support for a lot more sensors, much better battery life, recharging via sunlight and alternatives methods such as movement etc (would require a platform for various types of gyro support).

to compete with Apple.. Google and Microsoft to work more to create eco system..
Apple has more advantages because it uses complete eco system on one OS.
But Microsoft dominate only on PCs and Google on Mobile, Tabs, TV..

        Get ready for 5100

The issue with wearables isn't even a chipset. It's Google's lack of interest and their capability to put something half usable together. And then commit to it. It seems like any WearOS version they released basically had zero support and were all dropped based on some weird arbitrary rules. That's why it failed. Qualcomm released new chipsets and Google did that weird exclusive deal with Samsung and what the hell even came up with that? Literally nothing.

5100 and 5100+ have been announced but AFAIK have not been seen in any smartwatches (or other devices yet) that I know of. More memory, more speed and capability are always welcome, especially in the large and growing wearable tech.

I won't be holding my breath , for years Qualcomm treated it's wearable chipsets like an unwanted stepchild and even with the latest 4100 they tried to change the tune , the SoC came late to the market ,in small quantities and with a slow market adoption ,so well, I won't contribute with the hype.
