Jan Ahrenbring, 07 Aug 2022Do you really NEED a flip design or it's only a WHIM?yes. it focus all the camera firepower on the back. when videochatting with friends or taking a selfie, you get the full blast of the back camera. theres no hole or notch in the screen for the camera. those people paranoid about security cant worry that their front facing camera is secretly recording them. you can do panoramas off a fixed tripod without moving the phone. It enhances image stabilization.
no, you dont *NEED* a flip camera, but you also dont necessarily need a smartphone either. As far as different takes HARDLY even exist anymore on phones, this one is very nice.

ASUS abolished... moreIt may be, but they can release a pro version of this device, I don't think that Asus is stupid enough to launch a compact phone thinking that it will raise many sales, they need a plus or pro version of this with better features, unless that they leave that model for the Christmas sales and launch it later

I don't know why smartphone makers are not concentrating on UW cameras and uniform colour temperature for all cameras across the board. Same resolution sensors allow identical colour temperature. Also the UW camera needs to have a larger sensor in order to match the same level of detail as the primary sensor.

The main goal of getting a full display phone without a front selfie camera is for privacy purposes. Even if the camera is under display it's still there and it might be prone to hacking, spying, or be accessed by third-party apps. That's the reason I'm waiting for a motorized pop up camera like that of the Zenfone. It's really sad that this tech has quickly faded and died.

Is there gonna be a flip model of Zenfone 9 like last year? I'm currently searching for a full display phone without a notch or punch hole but those kinda peaked back in 2019 and died in 2020.
