Anonymous, 19 Jul 2022Wasn’t there an article today that talked about lower sales... moreI remember buying Nokia N95 8GB edition for close to 900$ in late 2007 with only one camera and 3ish inch display...
So, I don't know what you're talking about.

Anonymous, 19 Jul 2022Wasn’t there an article today that talked about lower sales... moreMost sd 778G phones are like that, mini flagships with 120hz amoled display, good battery, camera and Build quality. Like Samsung A52s, xiaomi 11 lite 5G ne, Nothing phone etc.

Just bring the S22 price down to 600$ and suddenly it becomes S22Fe :)

I hope Samsung will bring back the expandable storage for their next S23 Series, or only for their Fan Edition at least.

Maybe, if that was the case, wouldn’t it make sense to lower prices for once? Flagships got twice as expensive in the last 10 years, from 500$ to 1000$ and beyond, but inflation was barely 30% in the same time, not 100%. And considering how far advanced phones have become, and they really actually outpaced the increasing demands of users, wouldn’t it make sense to make well rounded phones at the 200$ range. Phones that are not built from plastic, have worse performance than a 4 years old flagship, and cameras that look worse than 8 years old flagships.

Nobody really needs this Fan Edition, the basic S22s are already doing a good job, with all these smartphone versions from some competitors, I wonder if there really is a shortage of components.

If it at least had unique features like the iPhone SE has TouchID, then it would make sense to keep the FE. But since the S21 FE doesn’t have microSD and a headphone jack, it‘s pretty much just last years performance for a lower price. And at that point, it could have been easier to just continue selling last years model.
