WhatsApp now officially supports cross-platform chat transfers between iOS and Android

    finally...this should have been delivered for many years ago.people wouldnt' have to use expensive 3rd party software.

          And "Move to IOS" app is waste of time. It does not work 99% of time.

            rizki1, 21 Jul 2022As of the time of this writing, only the Android to iPhone ... moreSome weeks ago I tried it with the Betas, I didn't manage to get it working (from a Pixel 4a in Android 12 with a bunch of different betas to iPhone 12 in iOS 15.5) and finally did it with Wondershare's paid service (around 20$).

            It's suposed that there is no difficult requirement in transfering from Android to iOS in the official way. Just last version of Whatsapp installed and iOS updated to 15.6, that's it. It's a nonsense the requirement of having last version of Whatsapp installed in iOS, since it must be factory reset before the restore (so there is no Whatsapp installed). Good luck with it :D

                As of the time of this writing, only the Android to iPhone method is up on WhatsApp’s support site, and you’ll need to use the Move to iOS tool on Android to do this. You’ll also need to be on the latest version of WhatsApp on both the sending and receiving devices. You also must use the same phone number as your old phone or change it before transferring. The receiving iPhone must also be factory reset or new.

                just how complicated to go to iOS. I was planning on using iOS (perhaps an iPhone 7 or 8) but seeing how difficult it is makes me lost lust.

                  What will happen if we are already moved from android to iphone. Which we are already using WhatsApp with new backup.
                  Can we merge old chat from android and new from iphone? Is that possible

                  Or is it only for upcoming shift from android to iphone and vice versa?
