No alert slider for the sake of saving space? Em.... I wonder where I heard that excuses before.... Oh ya, Apple. Which at least they still keeping it for now knowing that that's their signature design.

No Hasselblad to lower down/maintain the price point? Sure, let's see whether the price is going to increase or not after they release the phone. Honestly, kinda feel like OP is keep on shooting themselves on the foot intentionally.

    The only reason is to get more money from a cheaper manufacturing process.

      Anonymous, 25 Jul 2022Exactly the same reason for headphone jack removal: to enla... moreThe headphone jack and microSD slot reach very deep into the device (headphone plug is some 20 mm deep and about 5 mm in diameter), which limits the disposition of inner space, mainly on smaller devices. Therefore removing it makes sense, if we want larger batteries, more cameras etc. I don't miss jack and microSD.

        Removing the alert slider on a 50K phone and keeping it on a 28K phone (Nord 2T) is the dumbest decision ever. I am a die hard OnePlus Fan, but sorry OnePlus, you guys are going down the shit lane.

          what i think :

          OneP = LIARS

            the funny thing is, the next flagship will debut with the alert slider.

                I don't understand. OP9 used ultra wide camera to double as macro camera. Why on earth they swapped ultra wide sony camera for garbage samsung that has no macro functionality and adding dedicated garbage 2mpx camera. No one wants extra wide 120+ angles sub par-camera that has no macro function. This is one of the most mind blowing decisions.

                  Obviously BBK set their goal to destroy all the OnePlus´s unique features and make it just another phone... Very sad

                    We can understand OPPO wants to completely kill OP and get back to the OPPO brand only. Its ok anyways OP has lost the big fan base it was having. No one is interested to know what they are doing now. No one would have asked for a reason why they removed the slider. They can just copy one of the OPPO phones they don't even need a designer.

                                    I feel that is a blow for a lot of users as that slider is so helpful. Often, these tech companies decide what's best for their decisions instead of what the users want. One such decision is the removal of a 3.5 headphone jack. Users are forced to buy airpods and other Bluetooth TWS earphones. But even the manufacturers know they are making false claims and making compromises over quality. 1+'s removal of the slider is such one.
