Best Buy announces new small-format stores

These “digital-first” stores will feature a curated showroom of products with pickup lockers.

This is the future of store, specially for large product. Small/less know brands/lower selling will be impacted too.

    Best Buy is one of the few US retailers that actually cares for what they sell and try to keep an assorted number of brands and products on their stores.

    Their prices are also great and their customer service is ok. Not perfect but at least you dont get sent to a call center in India (no offense to Indian people, but those call centers are certainly terrible a lot of times)

      I can't think of a store with lazier employees.

      Maybe Lowe's Home Improvement.

      Smaller stores with higher quality, educated employees should mimic the Apple Store experience.

        Best Buy is pretty good. Lower faulty goods than in Amazon. But for an unknown reason their website doesn't open in my country. It says access is denied. But Amazon works. I can only open Best Buy with a VPN or Proxy.

          seeing all the videos of people stealing merch at regular BestBuy, i wouldnt wage this trend would last any longer... as in CA, USA up to $999 is not considered a theft worthy of pursuit.

            So they are making stores where they need a fraction of the employees and will provide worse service?

                Really? Here in Canada, the one in my local mall is still open. I guess it only applies to the US.

                Also it's interesting seeing this story now, just had an interview with Best Buy today.
