Do you really think they would engage in any activities that hurt their business in their 2nd largest market?
In fact, "ONLY in their 2nd largest market"?
Accept it, man. The government is just doing witch hunting and nothing else.

And yeah, the government is doing these cheap stunts since the beginning of the pandemic (seems the governments of entire continent have the same habit of distracting the citizens from their failures)
Firstly, they targeted the software firms quoting some security concerns (which I believe is the job of Google and it does pretty well by banning tons of malicious apps every month)
Then restricting FDI from "countries that share borders with India"
And now by going after these hardware manufacturers

Funnily enough, the government has repeatedly expressed its desire to become a "smartphone manufacturing hub of the world"

Companies are always looking at ways to avoid tax. Tax avoidance is legal, however tax evasion is illegal. The problem is the distinction between the two is not always that clear and subject to interpretation of the relevant legislation. A tax professional could advise a company to do one thing which they believe is legal and constitutes tax avoidance based on their interpretation of the legalisation (often a loophole in the legislation) but the tax authorities may have a different view of the legislation and may view it as tax evasion. Without knowing the full details and being familiar with the tax legislation, It's difficult to know whether the law is consciously being broken or whether the companies are using ways they believe are legitimate ways of reducing tax based on the advice they are being given by their tax advisers. Just look at the major court cases involving Google and Apple. These cases can be very complex.

All Chinese companies which are doing business in India as well as in exclusive countries. All those companies steal morally or unethically. All Chinese companies are hollowing out every country where they are doing business. Therefore, the governments of all those countries need to be alert.

India is doing a great job at making sure nobody wants to do business in their horrible country. 👍

I mean no offense to general Indian citizens that do not find their government to be a good one.
