Rumor: the Galaxy S23 Ultra will have a 200MP sensor with 0.6µm pixels, 5,000mAh battery

04 August 2022
That's the same battery capacity as the S22 Ultra. Similarly, the new 200MP image sensor may be the same size as the current 108MP sensor.

Ok after reading this on Twitter, the 200MP is starting to make more sense especially for video. https://twitter.com/RGcloudS/status/1555086726296526849?t=Vtb_etZJcSI2rLZLcP6C6w&s=19.

I hate this only talk about cameras.

          What about screen quality?
          What about audio output quality?
          What about real life performance?
          What about built quality?
What about battery endurance which is the most important thing in any smartphone?

Nothing. People just talk about cameras in their smartphones. Like they are going to take 1000 photos per day. God save us from stupidity. Amin. 🙏

Also did you shoot the pictures in RAW?

It wouldn't be a better idea to make a new 108 MP Quad bayer camera? This way pictures would be of 27 MP instead of 50 MP(using the 200 MP camera).

                    *sigh...

We've literally hit lack of excitement for Android now. Oppo has been boring, OnePlus has been boring, Vivo has been....better but still boring, and now Samsung is doing this idiocy.

I'm, at this point, literally only interested in Asus and Sony. Even Google can't peak my interest...

If the diagram is correct, then each small pixel should be able to capture more light than a larger pixel at base Iso. That's not necessarily a contradiction. It just means that the pixels can use a longer exposure time in perfect light conditions without blowing out highlights. So if the diagram is correct, then the 200 megapixel mode would be less noisy at base Iso than the 108 megapixel mode of the previous sensor, even at pixel level!

It would capture 200*0.6²* 10 / (108*0.8²*6) = 74% more light at base Iso (comparable to a 74% larger sensor).

oio, 04 Aug 2022jus some question.. Samsung has been using the same sensor ... moreNewer ISP from new SoC already helps video and photos to improve.
                                      Also, 8g2 supports ddr5x RAM.
Probably ufs4.0, which samsung semicon announced already. Speed is at least 2x higher than ufs3.1.

There is no need to get new sensors if specs do not change.
                                      S7, S8, S9 and S10 all have different isocell/exmor.
                                      In vain.

Actually gsma doesn't have 108mp from S21u/S22u in comparison tool. That aside, even some 64mp shots should look interesting compared to competition with 12mp. With 200mp, low res believers gonna be mad.
