It's pricey, sure, but a lot of people are strongly considering buying one. The limited software support drew some criticism, but not enough to turn the vote negative.

      The increase in price could simply be down to the cost of chips at the moment, not everything has come back down pre-pandemic prices yet

        another "let us see" moment...
        battlecry for a compact is always loud... but the soldiers are weak...
        but with the battery life this has, it now waits to be seen...
        if it will surpass even just all zenfone sales last year, it is a good sign...
        honestly, it is on my shortlist, aside from pixel 6a and phone (1)...

          Or how is it possible, that the best selling of S22 series is the most expensive Ultra?

              Thats why most android phones these days are over 6.3''

              And on iphone side too, the only reason the base 6.1'' model is the most sold every year is because of its lower price(compared to max)and not for its size.

IMO it's never a good idea for any company to price the same as Samsung and Apple. The newest Qualcomm flagship is not the X factor. An 870 is already more than enough for most people.

At 449 it's the device to beat for me. Xiaomi 12X has slipped to 399 which is a good price as well. The reality is that practical users who want a smaller phone aren't always the same ones who want the most expensive phone. I think Asus should either find a way to get the price down a little or make 2 models for the next one. I think 800 is a hard sale when compared to the current small offerings: Pixel 6a, Galaxy S22, iPhone 13, iPhone 12, Zenfone 8, Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X, Xiaomi 12S. Sure the Zenfone 9 is the newest in this group, but it is also one of the most expensive. With all that said, I love the Zenfone 9, but I'm just not in the market for a $800 phone.

A "no" is always a "no... moreLike I previously said, it wouldn't change the result that more than half voted "yes" but would further specify the "no" votes. Just saying that since the second option, which was essentially also a "no" (software-wise), was a separate option, it would've been better if a "no" (hardware-wise) was also a separate option and not lumped in together with "no" (prefer large phones). This suggestion is for the writer/editor to consider for future polls or to just ignore completely.

                                  For me S22 is the only available option now, with Zenphone 8. It will be a while before Zenphone 9 is available.
                                  And if you don't have a budget for it, then you have no other option but to use those huge glass slabs.

Maybe it will make space for a new version of SE based on iPhone mini design (which would be amazing).
