I am trying to unlock my iphone 2.0; but i reset it and then my itunes updated it to 8.0 itunes and i tried the step for pwnage but it was so complicated ad i dont know how to get the firmware now my iphone says emergency calls only, how do i unlpock it so i can use my t-mobile sim card?

After Jailbreak can I use the phone ... moreafter jailbreak you can still only use the simcard for the network the iphone 3g was originaly on. jailbreaking does not unlock the phone... it mearly provides the ability to run the unlocking program as and when it becomes avaliable!

Adamsky, 22 Jul 2008Don't be a fool, comparing a Iphone and a PocketPC Phone li... moreHey i accept the foolishness of comparing the windows mobile and iphone , i have also used windows mobile ,in that options are numerous but you can only use few.in i phone options are less when compared but its all usable.To be true we are all used to windows for a long time so its difficult for people to adhere to new ones.Tech savvy dont compare and they try to learn new technology and use it wisely.Iphone is good in its own way ,have you readers thought of iphone making such a beautiful touch screen ever has other mobile companies tried. if you loose your stick you are in a jiffy.

Iphone 3g is available in india unlocked I happened to see it in a local store on 19th they are asking a price of 15,000inr.

I see alot of back and forth about which is a better brand Iphone or WM based phones. Is Iphone the cutest designer looking phone out yes to a point. Does it have some nice functions yes Largest Screen, Yes. Is the new pricing much better most definitely. It was very over priced for the little it offered in the beginning for sure. No the new version is much cheaper which is the one reason many people or jumping on it. No for the business types it is not worth the money. I like to use my thumbs to type which is pretty much impossible to do. You see how it is selling in Japan not to well. I just came from over there people are buying it but they are not giving out there phones for what they say is a cute but inferior product. Apples fatal flaw everything is locked and you have to go through their software to do anything. Where as a windows mobile device is pretty much drag drop go, and with the new WM devices coming out flash drives and the ability to also add a storage card to them some can already surpass the iphone in capacity and portability. The camera and video functionality we won't even go there. It is selling like hot cakes in the US because we have had crappy phones from the start. What we pay hundreds of dollars for people or overseas can get for free.
I got a Iphone for my little brother because he wanted a ipod and a new phone for his birthday perfect combination, but I got mine in Germany where there was a special it cost only 1 euro right now for the top two plans. We travel back and forth to europe so it was a deal plus it will work on the tmobile network and no roaming. Can't use the 3g function but really he said it just drains the battery anyway. I have spoken with a rep who was pretty cool and told me I can cancel the contract and pay 100 euros for early cancellation.
Pay about 150 to unlock it even though they advertise that they don't they will if you are nice and cordial(secret go to a smaller city) so all in all it will cost about 300 to 450 dollars give or take the exchange rate. Because you will have to pay the first months bill. Swiss Telecom has it really cheap also if you want it for about 500 to 600 dollars.
Me I will wait for the New Nokia and Samsung line up coming up.

people, you all forgot to mention one small but very important fact:
IPHONE OFFERS UNLIMITED DATA DOWNLOADS OVER 3G OR EDGE ANYTIME ANYWHERE (at least here in uk)FOR NO EXTRA COST. BEAT THIS. what a use of any browser, google maps etc if any use of it cost a fortune. i had winmo phones for years and had never been able to afford proper use of any data capability for costs reason. wi-fi argument is futile. there is no much of free wifi spots anymore and i do not have time or desire to look for them on middle of street and in home or office i got a normal computer readily available. Apple finally forced carriers to give normal people ability to use technology and not just to salivate on it.

in WM you can choose between IE, Opera, Netfront and more...Iphone? just "safari"
3. Jailbrake will open up so many more applications for the phone, so you will be able to have video recording, game emulators, mms the list goes on and on.
In WM Jailbrake it is not needed, it is open already for those things YEARS AGO. No need to wait for WMDevTeam & Co.

8. The iphone has style written all over it. looks much nicer than any windows device now.

9. Syncing your content from computer to your phone is flawless.
Does it have pocket OUTLOOK?? NO!
10. Push email coming soon for the phone.
Push email for WM is available since 2005.
