Might just be how I use my OnePlus, but I haven't found a single issue. Also heard others say good things about the recent updates (sure, there were some users still having issues). The initial release of OxygenOS 12 wasn't good, back then they had multiple issues and broken stuff... But in my experience, that's not the case anymore.

Stock Android 12 introduced *massive changes* under the new Material You UI guidelines. OOS12 did not have this change and people were demanding it. Anyone with a working brain would realize that talking point about "people not adapting to change" is downright silly in this context -- OnePlus customers *do* like change and embrace it (i.e., Material You), like they have throughout the many stock Android UI evolutions over the years, but no one wants to change for worse like Oppo just did with OOS.

Anonym, 11 Aug 2022I suppose the "it's fine" replaced the previ... morePhones are just tools. I don't know why it seems to be so hard for some people to adapt to changes when it comes to phones. I used the older Oxygen OS versions too, but when 12 arrived - got used to the new UI very quickly. The biggest change has been the fact that now it just works faster than ever - which is what I care about, performance. OxygenOS 11 wasn't this smooth or fast -> worse experience.
I did expect having to downgrade back to 11 since many kept whining about the new UI, but personally I feel like it's only a minor change. I don't use the stock launcher, never liked it to begin with, so I understand the biggest "issue" is that the new launcher only supports 4 colums for apps. This is Android, so launcher is changed very easily if you don't like the one phone comes with. It's not the end of the world.

These days, nearly every android manufacturer is indistinguishable from one another, whether that's in lack of reliability, stupid designs, bugs, iOS "inspired" UI, not enough software support, I could go on. This is coming from someone that has been team android since 2014 too

Except it's not even fine -- people who bought OnePlus for the OxygenOS, such as those seaking a pixel replacement in the markets where Google does not official sell Pixels, are rightfully p*ssed by how far away OOS12 deviated from the stock Android experience. Material You was the big thing with Android 12, but OOS12 was more like Android 11 with some ColorOSish-lite accents. Do realize that is pure garbage for the core demographic, no matter how much Oppo cool-aid you may be taking.

Anonymous, 11 Aug 2022Looking back at OxygenOS 12, I dont think your comment will... moreOxygenOS12 is fine, it's different than 11 - but not even nearly as bad as some want others to believe. Some of the hate comes from stubborn users that haven't even tried OxygenOS12 personally. :D It's hilarious! Sure, the early versions were rougher than the final 11 versions were, and so it was a good idea to avoid installing them.

The Android Freak, 10 Aug 2022So far so good."Known issues include problems with logging, a dot displaying abnormally when pairing Bluetooth, photos could be blurred when taking multiple shots of people with Ultra Dark mode and zoom out at the same time, screen freezing when recording videos, pictures not saving if shooting people at 3.3x zoom, black screens and freezes in the camera app, green videos when shooting in Film mode, and black pictures when shooting in the dark with Night Mode."
Ah yes, that's good....
New OnePlus and pixel are so buggy that it's hard to choose. Samsung and apple are better choices anyday as the price difference is not much.
