This is a new policy for Google’s firmware updates, but necessary.

Taking in to the account how bad google software and updates are for past few years Its like kick in the balls for users that get some issues after update and only way to fix it would be going back...

Why does the world keep enforcing horrible laws?
More importantly, why are costumer submitting? Stop buying these and other phones with horrible features.

So the phones can never be rooted after the update? Poor xda people.

rizki1, 16 Aug 2022their android 12 was full of bugs, how can to fix it if can... moreMostly beta 4 which was final beta was pretty much stable with optimized software. Tested already on Google Pixel 6. Let's see.

            positive
anti rollback its not something new.they prevent stealed phone being hacked except the phone already have bootloader unlocked..if still locked no way you can recover stealed phone.

you need to open the phone and used jtag to recover and thats expensive for new model also phone become garbage after they opened

            negative
if os still have bug welcome to suffer
also not all apps compatible with latest os

nsa seems to have made a joint-venture with google to create such a secure mobile ecosystem, so that only nsa and google can sell the data. google must have created the ultimate data exploitation system that it doesn't want you to backgrade your os.

Xiaomi: welcome to the party since it's not something new here

their android 12 was full of bugs, how can to fix it if cannot be downgraded (if something more bugs coming)?

So what happens if android 13 is a buggy mess and you want to go back to 12? Not a good look
