The Android Freak, 17 Aug 2022I am having One Plus/Motorola phones with June/July securit... moreFor me is not a big problem if they give 1 security update each 3 months. The bigger problem is when they say they will give monthly security updates and they don't. In other words, I don't like being lied to, especially to my face.
So, if they will say officially, "We will give security updates each 3-4 months", then ok, I could accept it. But if they say they will give monthly security updates, but give 2 per year, then is a problem. My trust will be immediately 0, for a company like that. And trust is very important, even in this phone business. At least for me it is.

My mom is 66 years old and never updates her Iphone 8 nor most apps. She dont know how and she dont care some old people are really stubbon. And she have no issue with her Iphone 8 bought 4 years ago.
She use the phone for most basic things calls, text, viber, whatsapp, facebook and messenger and that is.
Many other people are the same.
Dont know what your problem or point but having or not having constant updates is not that of issue.
Friend of mine have A5 2016 by Samsung and he never updated a single thing and the phone is perfectly working for all he needs to do.

I thought and heard they closed internet from outsite and all pages that doesnt belongs to russian servers are closed too.
I am big surprisd this working.
For what they did i would give em nothing and if so only for a unreal stupidly high price.

The Android Freak, 17 Aug 2022Samsung has taken updates game to the next level. OnePlus a... moreEverybody else in danger, except Apple and Google, you mean.
I read in some posts that some OnePlus Nord 2 owners are on April security update. Or some Xiaomi 12x owners are on May security update. I don't know if it's true, but if it is, then is not looking too good. Especially when both models are relatively new on the market (maximum 1 year old). And especially when this companies officially declared that in the first 6-12 months they give monthly security patches.
I can talk from my personal experience too. I had for about 2 weeks a Motorola Edge 30 phone, and in July I was on April security update. Even though Motorola officially promised monthly security updates for this model, in the first year.
Anyway, right now only Samsung (from Android part), is true to its words. The rest of the companies are just 50-50. Some models could get monthly security patches (depending on the region too), others barely get 1 security patch each 3-6 months.
No wonder people are switching to Samsung and Apple. They are fed up with the lying from Chinese companies.

Samsung has taken updates game to the next level. OnePlus and Motorola in danger.
