Anonymous, 26 Aug 2022So? Samsung still won't fix a phone with water damage ... moreI don't believe any smartphone maker. ONaixers water damage for IP rating. It maybe due to many reasons. Seawtaer damage, damage due to wear and tear, damage due to manufacturing defects, dage due to pressurized water entry etc cannot be specifically identified. That's why perhaps, OEMs have a blanket ban on smartphone water damage.

Akashi Seijuro, 26 Aug 2022I wish Samsung did as much rigorous quality assessment for ... moreHoly moly. I thought only Indian units have green line issue.
Samsung changed my S20 plus display and frame for free. I only paid labor cost.
But only after filing consumer court complaint.
My phone is 2 year old, yet samsung changed display and frame.
Not bad Samsung.

I have a Flip 4. Less than a year in and it's got a massive crease / bubble around the center for the 2nd time. Repair isn't just a screen protector, it's the entire module. Oh, and the outer screen doesn't work at all anymore.
I like the actual phone but can't recommend it. Will be trading in for another Samsung soon.

I have every fold so far, and barley used them especially to fold 1. i am really enjoying this phone, the camera is actually useable hinge feels great. I really like it I took a gamble and bought the Vivo fold i really like that phone. But way to much work to actually be able to use it and only get 4G, but if Samsung can have an outer display like Vivo and there crease it would be a home run.

Worthless video. Where's the drop test or when put in a tumbler? Check out the Nexus One when HTC put it through rigorous tests. Now that was a tough phone.

Anonymous, 26 Aug 2022Not until bendable glasshuawei foldables have a much smaller crease, it is almost invisible. samsung should innovate faster.

Anonymous, 26 Aug 2022This is millions in equipment used for testing each design ... morewell, samsung's video shows once again the soft tests smartphone brands do for advertisement. what did the video show? how they leave a phone inside a water tank? how they spray water on it? how they fold and unfold it?
that is not a durability test.
durability test is what our beloved zac does. scratching the screen and body of the phone, bending it as much as possible etc.

AnonD-731363, 26 Aug 2022Samsung cannot be trusted no matter what. Sea water any ki... moreIf you have a little bit between the ears, you wash it with clear drinking water right after it has been in the saltwater. But it is clear that you lack it.

All just a show to woo the crowd, foldable will die out soon, it's simply not practical and still very immature tech even though it is out on the market for 4,5 years.

Sea water any ki... moreIf you bring your phone into sea water, your phone deserves to die no matter which phones (with ip67/68) you have.
Only smart people understands this simple logic.
Thats old news about galaxy S8 btw, why stops there? You can even compare Galaxy S1 with newest chinese flagship to make your favourite phone brand looks better than samsung.

Anonymous, 26 Aug 2022This is millions in equipment used for testing each design ... moreThe same equipment oneplus uses for bend tests? Id rather see someone do it casually in an everyday environment than trust what their controlled tests say.

you have to suffer, 26 Aug 2022the sand or dust would still get through the hinges and unu... moreIt doesn't have sand or dust resistance rating. Neither does any other foldable. Other foldable don't have water resistance ratings either, though Samsung does.
