All three were oh so horrible and died rather quickly.
Yet my Samsung Note 4, Xiaomi Note 4 are still kicking (my oldest phones)

Lol, those are the "wannabe flagships".
The real flagships are the OnePlus 10 Pro and Xiaomi 12S Ultra.
Is like saying the Galaxy S21 Fe is a flagship, just because it has some things from the S series.

Never had a Sony device again since the Xperia Z gen 1 line, really poor devices, with poor software and poor updates, not to talk about a lot of hype on the hardware but sub-par image delivery compared to other flagships.
I would rather prefer that was SONY the one who died in mobile phones and not LG, at least LG was bringing some interesting innovations, not like Sony, that sounds more like the Iphone of android but withouth the great software.
BTW, if Sony holds today, i do not think it is because of sales outside JAPAN.

So, 1iv is bit smaller than 1iii. But ads larger zoom system + 500mAh
Obviously, same could be done here. They just do not want to.
