Anonymous, 03 Sep 2022No thanks. There is far more important things to deal with ... moreI take it you've not seen that security 'leaders' in their field are warning people to be wary of many apps, downloaded via Play Store, that will empty ones bank account, PDQ?
I don't think any one operating system is immune or safe from potential hackers.
I still have my P30 which thankfully operates android. My neighbour had a slightly 'better' Huwawei but it used their own system, I guess. We are, as human beings, creatures of habit who really do not like change, not one bit. But each time Facebook or other social media platforms go through minor changes, many of us threaten to leave but we rarely do.
I personally am sorely tempted by one of these new European models but then, I've never run with th 'sheeple' - 'different' is often challenging. Who doesn't like a challenge? 😎

Huawei products have become increasingly overpriced. No longer (in most cases) the value for money handset it once was known to be. However i applaud their initiative with the Harmony OS after experiencing a phone with Samsungs Tizen OS I expected something similar from Harmony but I have to admit that in certain ways I've found Harmony an improvement over Android. Understandably the transition requires a bit of work to set up and many may not wish to do it. But I'm quite enjoying Harmony OS.
THIS PHONE HOWEVER IS NOT WORTH THE PRICE TAG HUAWEI IS ASKING.

No thanks. There is far more important things to deal with rather than deal issues with apps and service on Huawei phones. The beauty of android is it's vast oem who make great phones. No need to live with a compromised phone.

          Bad pricing for such midrangers

And they continue with these "waterfall" screens ... (●__●) .

Nothing wrong with an Android phone without the GMS. Not everybody needs GMS in their phones, not to mention that some of the Google apps work fine (like Maps).

So many questions why why why.
Is simple, so many people start ask why Google service. Many and many start looking for phone without GMS, why? Simple because without that phone has up to 40% lifetime on battery, is faster and keep going smoothly longer.
Many of them don't want ios and GMS so HarmonyOs is the way.
Only problem is 5G and eourooe didn't have yet HarmonyOs, just tables has now this system, and banking apps missing.
Yes if Mate 50 pro will come with harmonyOS and 5G I can handle it and buy it for normal price, and thst is another issue price.
My kids has tablet from huawei updated 4 months to HarmonyOs and is great, work fabulous and yes few app missing i know how to put there but many people will don't.
Thats only my view and because I had Pixel 6pro straight from Google then no I really considered buy phone without GMS.

Huawei is irrelevant in Europe. Why they even bother?

Lol, 730EUR, for a SD778, without 5G support and Google services and with 8Mp/2Mp cameras? Why they are even bothering coming to Europe which such phones? Nobody will buy them.
This looks worse even than the Nothing phone (1).

AnonD-1058210, 02 Sep 2022Who on earth will buy it? There is no 5G which is MUST.. 4... moreWell not everyone has 5G anyways but it lacks of other features for that price.

AnonD-1033007, 02 Sep 2022500€?! What's wrong with Huawei?!That seems to be the standard price of these newly launched snapdragon 778G midrangers this year. The Xiaomi 12 lite and Nothing phone 1 are also 500 euro for 8gb 256gb models. As this chip was on quite a few phones last year there is a lot to be said for just buying a model from last year with the same chip instead for anyone that is concerned with price to performance ratio.

4G speed = 100 meg or less during the day
                              5G speed = 700 - 800 meg all day!!!

Just when you think smartphone manufacturers can't get anymore stupid... Huawei are going to try to sell phones in Europe without Google Play Services 🤣🤣🤣
