The fact iOS became the option you can depend on is pretty impressive. We could also have Windows Mobile if Microsoft in their usual fashion didn't give up so quickly. I know a lot of people who really liked Windows Mobile on latest Nokia phones (made by Microsoft) back then. Microsoft should just focus more on getting app devs to work with their system. Because success of mobile OS entirely depends on good support of services and apps. Without that, no one will use it. Same issue BadaOS had. Samsung just didn't try good enough to get developers on board. Remember, Android was much more clumsy back then and they could all much easier compete against it. Today, Android (and iOS as well) is very mature in general, so that's pretty hard to achieve.

And not having a 3.5 mm headphone jack was a trend long before Apple launched iPhone. Nokia had much smaller round jack, Sony Ericsson had flat pins connectors, many phone had usb mini connectors and so on. And removing the charger is pretty much like removing headphones from the box, what Chinese companies are doing for years.
Yet all these trends are bad

Id also bet that someone who chooses Samsung continues to do so. Only reason I switched from Huawei is because of the ban from Google Play Store etc otherwise I'd have the P50 pro right now. Also we have variety on Android and you don't, that's why we like to switch. If you're gonna compare anyone it'd have to be Google and Apple rather than a particular phone brand

Nah, Samsung has an obsession with doing things first, often regardless of how well it actually works. Apple by contrast are more concerned with doing them well. As a consumer who spends money on these things and then has to live with them, I know which approach I prefer

No one needs massive changes from model to model. Doing evolutionary long term changes is often good. People are forgetting that Apple isn't playing the same game as all the Android phone makers who need to constantly wow users with short attention span that their phone is the cool one. Apple is in for the long game of retaining users through longevity and returning customers (which is achieved with small hardware changes and long software support) and not wow factor. They don't care if you buy new iPhone every year, every 3 years or every 5 years, what they care is that you don't go for another brand. Even customer who only buys phone every 5 years, but will buy another iPhone after 5 years is what they want. Unlike Android brands where users are shuffling between brands on yearly basis. I mean, how many times you had same Android phone brand in a row? Most users never as they jump between brands, whatever has better "value" at the moment. I was like that too. Always different brand.Now that I tried iPhone and I really like its perks, particularly software support which is just outstanding, I'm much more inclined to buy another iPhone than anything else. Thinking of Galaxy S23 next year, but I know it won't have as good software support even though they offer best one in Android space...

Ever since Samsung quit on the:
- 3.5mm jack
- the SD card slot
- the charger in the box
- downgraded the display resolution on the S Plus
- downgraded the RAM amount
there are practically no major hardware differences between the iPhone and Galaxy S flagships. The only difference now between the two is the operating system.
Let's face it, Samsung is the Apple of the Android world. It's not flattering at all! It only shows how pitiful Samsung really is. And then they dare mocking the brand they are so desperately trying to copy. CRINGY AF!

These ads are not very useful, since typical Apple/iPhone customers usually don't care about specific specs but rather about ease of use.
The Galaxy Z Flip might indeed be attractive to some new users because of its foldable firm factor, but nobody really cares about the "108 Megapixels.
So, Samsung better save that advertising money and an include a charger with their next phone generation.
